1985 4Runner Deluxe. I'm assuming that this cut-out is for something on an SR5 model? I had an 86 SR5 4Runner but I don't remember anything being there.

Anyone know what went here? The reason for my question is I'm investigating switch location possibilities and what, if any, original Toyota switches are available to fit existing cut-outs.

Thanks!

In the SR5 models equipped with Cruise Control, the on/off button and indicator light goes there.

That's interesting, mine had a dealer aftermarket cruise control installed on the other side (which never worked, BTW).

Besides the main On/Off for the factory cruise system, there was a nifty little light that would turn on when you opened the door and shine a beam on the ignition switch, so you could see to insert the key. It was on a timer that would fade the light out after about 5 seconds after you started the engine.

My SR5 pickup doesn't have either of these options, but I scavenged all the parts from a 4Runner in a junkyard to add them some day.

Cruise control on the 4 cyl? Heck, my 3.0 V6 barely has enough uumph to use cruise control. Anyway, I put my TLCA dash plaque in that location. Fit perfect.
