I may have a chance to grab some parts from an IFS mini at a pick-n-pull next week. What parts might be "good" to grab? (I don't own a mini). Anyone need anything that's EASY to pull?

i could use the steering box for my mini....worrth $50 for your time ??

If I get to pull stuff I will price it appropriately (reasonably) and offer it to whomever recommended it first - IF I CAN. I will not guarantee that I can/will do this, I will try, it's what I'd like to do. The trip is primarily for me to pull a few parts I need - after that I'll try to get to the easiest to pull parts that are worth the most...

pull the rear end, especially if v6

pull the rear end, especially if v6

Very unlikely I'll get to that. Small, easy to remove and desirable parts are what I'm lookin' for...

Power steering pump, mounting bracket and reservoir.

Front brake calipers and rotors.

Seats (if it has buckets)

Grab bars (I'll buy them if you get them)

Arm rests (if it's an SR5)

Dash cluster (if it has a tach)

Hey Mark:

A set of IFS hubs will sell on here and Pirate for $50, if you can get them for cheaper than that. But, then you're sitting in the mud pounding away on the studs trying to get the cone washers out, it can be a frustrating experience, especially if it's really cold like it's been lately. It's a tradeoff.

The IFS steering box shouldn't be too hard to get, just make sure you have a good tie rod end puller, and a BIG wrench for the 3 bolts that hold it to the frame. You will also need a 17mm flare wrench to get the hoses disconnected (or just cut them). It might make a huge mess if they haven't drained the PS fluid yet.

If it has a 22RE, maybe grab some of the EFI stuff: MAF sensor on the airbox, the throttle body and TPS, the distributor, coil, computer (pass side kickpanel).

Interior parts are easy to get, but only mess with them if they are in really good shape, and only if you have someone that wants it. A cracked dash pad is not worth messing with, for instance. I parted out a truck a year ago and ended up throwing away almost the entire blue interior, I couldn't even give it away.

If the dash cluster is still there and it is the SR5 set (has a tach and full gauges), it will sell easily, but make sure you also grab the oil pressure sender off the side of the engine.

A lot of Cruiser guys swap the front wheel hubs to push the wheels out a bit, helpful for running some aftermarket wheels that have too much backspacing. A messy job to get them off, though.

get all the 1156, 1157, 921, bulbs you can.

While I have to admit to occasionally pulling these and sticking them in my pocket when I've been in a yard around a cruiser I don't think I need to hoard them. I've had my 60 since 1999 and I've probably replaced 3 bulbs total in all that time...
