most likely came from a 1965 fst fj40. came in a crate of parts that my friend took off his cruiser years ago.

That is what it looks like to me but the pre 64 models did not have that adjustment. Four nuts needed to be loosened, slide the seat and tighten again. Are you sure this is off Annie?
