What is the difference between Pertronix 91662 and 91662LS? (2 Viewers)

I just got off the phone with a tech at Pertronix and he claimed he had no listing for the 19100-61080 distributor using that part number other than the standard 1662 ignitor, and he wouldn't guarantee fitment with even that number. He claimed he needed the actual distributor number, and not the Toyota part number. I gave him the Denso number (029100-7562) on the sticker on the distributor and he said he had no listing at all for that number. He was not very friendly about it.

Sad customer service IMHO. I understand that part #'s are long and its easy enough to transpose a few digits and then its 50 plus year data that we are dealing with, but they should still have a good attitude when trying to help a paying customer. I'm not a black box ignition guy but from posts on the forum I'll not be buying Pertronix stuff or Dobinsons springs. For the most part all the vendors I have dealt with here have been at least OK.

In all fairness, it is a non usa distributor. So that part number isn't necessarily one that would have been run across often or at all when they compiled their list of numbers for units that it fits.

Just a follow up with this, purchase the non us vacuum advance distributor from city racer and Pertronix ls kit, and everything worked perfectly, so simple, my cruiser had a vac retard unit and older Perteonix unit so I didn’t have an igniter, Pertronix was wired directly to coil, so I didn’t the same with the new units and it fires right up and runs so much better with the vac advance. Highly recommend.
