come on D' really.
i'm not that stupid

I put a front hoop to my roll bar in my 76 FJ 40. It looks great and is very funtional. I wheeled it all summer.

I went to put my hartop back on and realized the driverside door would not close. The front hoop was made for an earlier FJ40 with the skinny doors, not the wide ones. LOL! :o

way 2go!!

i did the same thing with a local and his cage.
thought it was a good distance for the doors  NOT!
i didn't have the doors when i did the cage.

rear bumper

well, the bumper i started for brokenparts wasn't gonna fit his rig (i'll get you another going zach)
so, since i've been running around for the last 6 months without a bumper and had 8 hours to kill today ;)
still not done but only have some supports to put in. i'll get to that in a week or two.......or never

Hey Jim,
I like it ! takes a different train of thought on tube bumper building huh? Its alot tougher than people think to design and then build some thing thats' not already out there on the market. I dig the rear piece as well! Is this one a mock up or going to be the bumper for broken parts?
I never heard back from you on the bender? are you happy with that one ? If so great, just giving you another option. By the way the one I have is electric/hydro. - only 110.

now that's a bumper. about time someone stepped up to the plate and designed a tube bumper for the 60's guys (and girls).

can't wait to see more.

Would you be able to incorporate a hitch into this bumper? and also can the wings be tied into the frame at the end down there?

yes on both counts.
we were talking about the hitch yesterday.
and as far as the "wings" being tied into the frame, that will be done this week, hopefully.
this is not finished yet, i also plan on capping the top under the tailgate.

as this bumper is now, it only weighs 60lbs

I'm thinking that I might be interested if the price is right. But I want to have a swing out tire carrier. You think it would be possible for me to make a tire carrier for it if I bought the bumper?

Looks a lot like what the mini and 4R guys run. I like it, and being all tube, could keep the weight in check.

nice work 2bad, not to hijack, but im curious what size holes you have drilled for the shackle mounts and what is the diameter of the pin on your d ring shackles. i drilled 3/4" holes for my shackle mounts but every shackle ive checked out (labled 3/4") is a larger diameter than that. if your shackles are 3/4", where can i get a pair of them, thanks.

they say 3/4 because i think thats the dia. of the ring, not the pin.
mine says 3/4 but the pin is 7/8, i get them at Fastnal.

i'll use 1"and 1-1/4"

I like it! I saw you off wolfensberg last week, I'm pretty sure that wasn't on it.

I absolutely love it. If you're up to the stage of producing these, pm me with the price, and I will start saving!

BTW, that "Police Interceptor" badge on your 60 is pretty sweet.
