a few bits to make the front end as wide as the 60 rear diff..
ifs hilux hubs and hub spacers.

Are the spacers to keep the disc in correct line with the caliper so the caliper can stay in the stock location? If so how thick is the spacer? I have been considering a similar mod but have been wondering how to set up the brakes.

Pulled the carb and rebuilt it. Before I had to pull out the choke to start it and you had to gently push the gas to get the RPM's up. Has not been driven in 7 or more years. Now it starts right up with no choke and you can rev the engine up, no bogging or hesitation. Hope to take it for the first test spin around the block tomorrow.

 but you are supposed to choke it on start-up

I haven't seen my truck since Cruise Moab :crybaby:

I hate to ask but what happened?

I drove it back to Arizona, parked in the garage and flew back to Baton Rouge where I work

I haven't been back to AZ since then, and the truck has been sitting some 1500 miles away from me :frown:

I have seen my truck in some posts since, though, including this video shot by LandCruiserPhil

Yesterday I deep cleaned the under-carriage. Since I've owned it there has been a significant amount of very fine grained mud inside the frame rails. The PO must have been wheeling in some deep silt.

Going wheeling this week got the surface muddy so this gave me the excuse to finally do the very dirty job of blasting all that mud out with a power washer.

fluids

Changed the Engine, Transmission and Transfercase oil in the cruiser. I did this with the help of my little boy Tyler, who is 6. He told me he likes getting his hands diry working on the landcruiser. He refers to the landcruiser as his...next, is changing the differential fluids. I think I need to upgrade to a 5 gallon bucket of gear oil and better pump than using the hand pump attached to the 1 qt bottles.

Ship Ahoy

Today I loaded my 1984 FJ40 into a container by the Arabian Gulf for shippment to Canada. Been working towards this for almost 5 years. Body off down to the last nut and bolt!
It has a new no number 2F short block that I got over the counter here. A/C and P/S.
In the back is two 50cc Z50 Honda Monkeys and it's packed with the leftovers of 2 cruiser restorations.
The trip will take 4 to 5 weeks and I'll meet it on the other end.
It will join its sister - a 1983 Dune Beige FJ40 in Canada that I sent 3 years ago. In case you are wondering, it cost around $3000 port to port (Toronto) with insurance and fees.
This makes at least 4 cruisers shipped outta here - all late models in recent years.
