Well, I did it. I got hitched and also completed the cruiser in time. Here is proof. Super stoked to see where my new life takes me. I have an amazing wife... that's still weird to say. And an awesome Land Cruiser. Time for some most excellent adventures!

Your scaring me Mark. Bought a new Kayline top back in 1994. Used with the bows and doors off my 73 FST a few times then put it away.

In 1995 bought a used FST bows, door and Kayline top off a 69 for $150.

Cheap and used that one as wasn't as much about damage wheeling. Then stored that one away. Believe it was 2009 bought another set of used bows with a used black Kayline top. That I needs some zippers sown back to the top. Now I worried about #1 & #2. Still close to 90° here. Best to let them soften up outside before unfolding them. Now really curious of their condition. They have always be store inside a home which I'm hoping helps.
Well John, here’s what was left of the top 300 miles later:

Do you know who the manufacturer was? Did you make any repairs before your trip? With my Kayline tops thread for the zippers tend to be the issue. Vinyl stored in a condition spave usually holds up well. Need to set up bows to put them on access their condition.

Tested out my lift. Replaced all my hard top weather stripping and put the hard top back on. Really thinking about going with a soft top next year. I think my 73 may have been a fst. It has the vador light so close enough for me. Lift worked great. Best $150 I ever spent.

This top was two-of-two, custom made out of genuine military cotton canvas about twenty years ago. So it was bound to fatigue faster than a vinyl impregnated material. One of my high-end customers bribed me into turning one of my sets of bows loose by offering to pay for them AND gift me a top. Unbeknownst to me, MY top was the guinea pig for the canvas guy. The customers top was a much better fit.

When the customer ended his midlife crisis and sold the truck, the FST didn’t end up being part of the deal, so he sold me back the bows for what he paid and gifted me the second top. I don’t remember what happened to the first one, but @Texican watched me put a hole in this one on my maiden voyage to the Lone Star Roundup in 2005.

And yes, I patched the top before I left, and my patch held. A pinhole in the roof spider webbed like a cracked windshield.☹️ I grabbed at the fabric directly over me as the split went from side to side. The fabric I grabbed just came off in my hands.😱

Stuck in a parking lot, she was running fine towing the trailer behind her with older tires on it. Went to try and move the car to park somewhere else and as soon as she starts she dies.

So shes firing up, and bleh bleh bleh dies. Weird.

BUT HEY, got a new set of shoes, wayyyy too nice for the 40 but I love the way it looks. Downsized to 31s instead of 33s
