yup, I am very happy with the results. They took 2-4 weeks longer than they told me at the beginning, but they were loaded up with other car bodies to run before mine so I'm not worried about it.

It's been a long time since I posted in this thread.

I started my 40 Sunday for the 1st time in 5 or 6 months. With all the trouble I have with my other cars it's amazing that it always starts after just sitting around in the yard for months at a time. The sorta newly rebuilt carby sucks. It won't idle down. It overheats after only about 10 min. Maybe the block is all full of crap? It still needs a steering pump, which is why it's just sitting (plus I have an awesome 80 as my DD).

So I was blowing off the leaves and crap with my blower and the cowl vent was full of water. As it turns out it was stinky black swamp water. So I cleaned it out, replaced the drain tubes and sprayed the screws down with PB Blaster. It's amazing they still do their thing.

On a positive note, the inside of the cowl vent still has pretty original olive paint with about no rust.

No pics, no digital smell file of the blackwater . Use your imagination.

- 2 F. thermo switch on exausy manifold to Fender green 1 pin splash proof yazakies

- I get more and more requests for H55F Conversations Related needed SuB Harness 4WD indicator switch and the updated Back up switch
That uses to round 2 pin Torpedo first Gen micro spade connectors 8/80-later

- I always install special oem white period correct fire proof insulated wire loom

- and black Japan sourced GLOSS solid loom , not only its period correct it’s the best dam thing possible to indeed use , heat , chemical and abrasion resistant

a only Top Shelf Materials, and only all the time ..,

- u see it takes hours to property assemble this vintage stuff all period correct and all , in no way involve low grade parts

Do it one time and do it by the FSM , then u have a longer then life service part that will never ever let u down

I see so many of you here in this thread exploring and pushing new boundaries and using modern materials with a purist based mindset approach ,…..

Seeing that gives me inspiration to dig ever deeper and push ever harder
The limits of what can’t be done into what has been done ..

Added a new fog light switch and wired it in for the OEM fogs. Fresh from Japan.

Electrical system cleaned up with after market in-cab switches. 1/8” steel with items mounted using nurserts and Allen head bolts. Also replaced original CB mount with new one. Patina.

TWo applications of this chemical stripper, rinsing and scrubbing with a stiff nylon brush after each, then fine sand paper then scotch brite pads
