What have you done to your 4x4 lately 2019?

I finally had my tire fixed from the last trip to Rush Springs. The kid at the tire shop asked me where all the rock rash on my wheel was from and how I broke my valve stem. I told him I curbed it at the mall.

While I had it in the garage I thought I would jack up the front end and check for wheel bearing play. The left side was good. The passenger side had backed off probably 5 full turns. Two of the drive flange studs were stripped and one had to be cut off and replaced. The key on the lock ring had sheared off causing both nuts to back off to where the bearings were very loose. Pulled the bearings and checked them for wear. Everything looked good so I repacked them and installed a new locking ring. I love it when a 5 minute job turns into 3 hours.

I’ve had that key strip off on several I’ve opened up. We every time, I carry new ones in my spare parts too. If I’m in there it’s getting new.

To many 4x4’s to keep up. Just don’t know how Kelly does it.... (working on caster plates soon Monday probably.)

Rebuilding front end of my 100 with lots of new parts and upgrades.

Stripped my parts 100 for carcus and frame scrap (way to many parts in my basement, engine and trans may end up there too).

80 Cummins injection pump is leaking when cold. Next on the list after honey do’s. It could be a while. It only leaks when cold for a few minutes. That’s ok right?

Removed old turbo, intake manifold, tested glow plugs, drilled and tapped exhaust manifold for EGT probe. More to go!

Replaced the shaft seal and steering coupling on the LX450. Well past due.

Changed out signals, markers and headlights, a little before Saturday garage cleanse, forgot to share

New shoes for some $40 rims I cleaned up and painted.

Installed the GTurbo, new oil feed line/hose, new thermostat, intake/exhaust gaskets, new glow plugs, checked and adjusted injection pump static timing, installed pyrometer/boost gauge and sensor, and working on water to air intercooler. Getting closer!
