Added comms today. After much debate I decided to pay the $70 for a GMRS (ZA) license (Licenses entire family). I still plan on getting my HAM license, but when I thought about my intended use with family and friends. It made more sense to install a 15 Watt radio in the truck and give handhelds to family and friends w/o having to worry about who is licensed and who isn't. The Midland MXT275 is a pretty cool little radio. Compact and out of the way. I recommend upgrading the antenna though (I have this one on the way).

Installed the base unit in the back and extended the handset up front to avoid as much clutter as possible. I'm happy with the setup.

No pictures at this time, but I have been busy on the LC getting it ready for LC200. Did some re-wiring on my sPOD and fuse block in the back and added a 12 volt outlet and USB ports between the 2nd row and the draws. Got my Ham mobile (Yaesu FTM-300D) today and got it installed. Still have a couple of more things I would like to do.

Peeling, failing vinyl...gone—

That’s intense. What’s your reason for going 5%? Anything on the windshield?

Nothing on windshield. I like the security of 5% in back. I regularly park in public lots for extended periods of time. 4+ weeks in an airport lot. Keeps heat out and deters people from looking in.

I went with a similar setup. 5% in back and 18% ceramic in front. The heat protection is primary, but security is huge too. You can't make anything out through that 5%. I'm doing my windshield when it gets replaced after LCDC. Looks great, seems like they did good work.

Agree. I have similarly dark in back and cargo becomes basically *invisible*. Also stays so much cooler inside.

They did a great job. My eyesight at 31 is not what it once was. I feel 20% is dark at night looking through them on local roads but it’s manageable. Couldn’t imagine anything on the windshield.

The windshield is essentially clear and unnoticeable, but blocks the heat. I had it on my M4 and it was great. Best to do on new glass before installation for windshields. Agree on the 18% being pretty dark to see out the sides. I'm glad I didn't go 5% all the way around for that reason. The other benefit of the 5% in back is for camping as I sleep in there and it provides at least a little bit of privacy.

I believe the windshield has some UV/heat resistant properties as it appears to block some of it out while driving.

I admire your restraint! Once I had the spray gun in hand, I probably would have sprayed the whole truck :poof:

Ya, I can’t take credit for restraint since I wasn’t manning the sprayer. Line-x goes on at around 180 degrees... Reslly only ever had vinyl because my skyward-facing paint was failing badly (roof, hood, spoiler). But vinyl died after only 2 years... Should have done it this way the first time.

I did ask about full coverage, but the cost is high. Too high for my thin wallet. Had to do this though, as paint was so bad. Happy with the result.
