Thought I had shared this but apparently not. Frontrunner Slimline II with VisionX 43” light bar.

You so fancy!

Where did you snag a 5th bbs? And did you ever find any black lugs that you trust?

I actually bought 2 sets. I have 3 wheels on the trailer and 5 on the LX. I promise I bought them for practical uses than anything else. I wanted to make sure we had the ability to swap tires from the trailer to the LX if we ever needed.

I've not found any black lugs on the open market just yet that I'd be willing to put on the truck. I do believe the Heritage Edition has black lugs, but I've not found the part number (@Eric Sarjeant ?).

The Heritage lugs are like $16 each and Toyota just released the part number in the past week. Unfortunately they are on stop-sale, so I can't get them, $320 for a set is kinda redix.

Here is a set for cheap. I don't think they are O.E. but I know they work and look great.

Got Ceramic Pro thrown on my 2020 LC with about 400 miles on it. Just had my 3 week "tune - up" (about 800 miles on it now). Did the lifetime/gold package. In the past I had a Yukon XL, also in black, and was having Paint PTSD flashbacks from that thing. I don't kid myself when it comes to the amount of time I spend on keeping the exterior of my cars clean. I'm closer to a "wash it once a year, if it needs it or not" than an "every 2 weeks" guy. I have no delusions of grandeur with the Ceramic Pro, but if it makes a wash simple and quick, I'll be more inclined to do it. Looks great so far!

I have some Bud Built sliders on order. Looking forward to getting them on, and then doing some light trails as a primer. I haven't done any serious wheeling since high school / college (had a CJ7, then a YJ, and a XJ), and back then it was on a serious budget. I'm fatter now (in weight and bank account), so it should be interesting to get out and have some fun.

Also working on getting my Amateur Radio Technicians License, so I can legitimately use the BAOFENG's that I bought for car to car (although I do have my GMRS licence, which is more than a lot of guys have).

Planning to move out of the DC / Balto area to Gunnison County CO this summer. Looking forward to going on some adventures out there, rather than Tom Foolery on the Beltway's here.

Where did you get your Ceramic Pro done at? I live down in Morganza, MD

Atomic Auto Salon in Columbia. Ran just over $2k. I was quoted $2400 I think, but since I only had 200-ish miles, they didn't need to do as much prep, so my overall price was lower, which was a nice and unexpected surprise.

Dropped it off on Friday morning, and then picked it up on Monday. Let it cure in the garage for 2 days. Plan in the cure time, because if it's raining, they'll want to just keep in their garage until it's cured.

I was satisfied with their service. I'd characterize it as uneventful, which is fine by me.

EDIT: I've lived in MD my whole life, and had to look up where Morganza is. You may want to look for something closer (Laplata, or Waldorf?) I've spend some time down at Pax River, and Dahlgren.

Thanks, 73's, KC0JHR

Well, HAD done ("free" or "spare" time is nonexistent for me) - full monty brakes all around. OEM Pads, rotors, shoes, hardware, and a Goodrich steel line kit, at my local shop. Boring, I know, but necessary. at 167k rotors had never been changed! Turned 3, maybe 4 times LOL. Pulsing was pronounced.

They feel sooooooo much better. I *think* baselining is now complete and we can proceed to the fun stuff.

Nice looking 200! Let me know when you get out to CO and we can hit some trails!

Just my thoughts but this doesn't look secure. It will shift as strap stretches. I would definitely do a four point and as well more spaced out for balance. As well would do over the wheel including tire. This may work if maybe held something like spare tire but don't think the roof rack is build tough enough for the pressure.

I don't disagree with the assessment and would do just that if the spare was up there long term.

The tire is actually very secure up there though and hasn't budged while we've been out. We have a habit when we're out of checking it to ensure no movement or strap issues. The roof rack is surprisingly stout though and handles the weight without issue. The tire comes down when we're done with our trip. This means it is only on the roof for a week or so, max.

This is what Front Runner sells that does a similar thing.

I like the spare wheel clamp. Nothing that can get loosen, stretched, break. Pretty good deal for $67

I had a spare set of chrome trim parts for my grille and my fog light surrounds painted satin black to match Toyota black badges.

I installed the grille parts.

I'm on the fence about whether I like it.

I'm still messing with the fog surrounds - trying to see if bd squadron lights will work without looking too goofy.

  • Ordered rear hatch bumpers and screws. The existing ones are rusty.
  • Cleaned the leather seats and drove the car through the carwash.
  • Tried a connecting a Bluetooth adapter to the 30 pin iPhone cable in my 2008 but the radio doesn't recognize it. Right now my original and ancient iPhone is connected to it :)
  • Tried two different FM Bluetooth transmitters to stream audio. Even with a small hack to increase their output; the quality is only "acceptable" and not good enough.
  • Messed with Torque pro but am convinced now I need something dedicated rather than using my phone.
  • Checked the radiator for cracks
Tomorrow I plan on driving a bit in low range and with diff lock since I doubt it has been used a lot with it's previous owner. Planning on doing this regularly.
