The 100 got a 200k mile facelift / makeover this weekend with all new 2007 front end parts. It was a lot more work than I anticipated but came out great in the end...
Did the upstream O2 sensors after throwing code. Ps is easy as pie. Ds clip behind that little heat shield is a pain. Gotta love a Georgia to Colorado no rust truck. Wish I didn't waste eight bucks on the O2 wrench. Rock auto densos were cheaper than amazon.
The 235,000 mile timing belt serivce is done with a new water pump, cam seals, front crank seal, timing belt tensioner, idler pulleys, drive belt, thermostat, and lots of hoses including the heater hoses and T's in the back. This is the 3rd new timing belt for my LC.
During the process of replacing the drive belt tensioner pulley I managed to strip out the tensioner so I have a new drive belt tensioner too...The weird thing is that the drive belt tensioner assembly that comes with a new pulley is only $5 more than just a pulley. Go figure.
On the DS, just bend the heat shield out of the way, R&R the O2 sensor, then bend the shield back in place. I stared at it for a while before I thought about it, then realized I was letting that thin, flexible piece of metal out-smart me.
Replaced my double din touchscreen with a single din head unit and yaseu FT7900 ham radio. installed an external speaker for the ham in the garage door opener holder. Added a blue sea fuse block in the center console.

Lent it to my dad to pick up a new boat we got. He needed to take the boat down to NC. I got a call from him an hour and a half into his trip saying "Are you sure you do not have a hole in you gas tank? and does it always sounds like a shuttle launch at highway speeds" Not quite as refined as his RX he traded me for the next few weeks. Ha
Finally installed my outback solutions single roller drawer with roller floor. Up tomorrow, permanently mount arb 63l fridge to roller floor amd then mount 1000/2000 pure sine wave inverter with automatic xfer switch under fit panels from the drawer.
If I had to guess, I'd say somebody tried to install those pads without having the piston fully retracted. They tried to force them in, knocking a chunk off the pad. Then, they returned them "as new." Next person purchased them "off the shelf." The worn paint marks support my theory.
Among many no so positive points are inconsistent wear among their pads. This is one of the reasons Slee now recommends OEM pads with powerstop rotors and you don't see the pads on Slee's site.
Personally I haven't had much success with bedding (twice: the initial install and then after having the rotors turned due to "warping") despite following the instructions to the letter (not rocket science). I don't drive hard or fast nor do I tow.
I've ordered product from Joneys and will utilize OEM pads.
