Report back on the ride quality after. I am interested in your results.

I will, I am really hoping that the ride is vastly improved.....from what I saw looking at the old bushings, it should. For reference, my truck has 218K miles on it.

Slee Bumpers

To get ready for the install of Slee's Double Swingarm Rear Bumper on my 1999 LC with 95K miles, I did some rear suspension upgrades:
1) I pulled the old rear upper control arms, the bushings were worn and deteriorating, and I replaced them with MetalTech's new adjustable length Johnny Joint UCA's (links)- poly bushing on one end, Johnny Joint on the other.

2) Next, I pulled the Old Man Emu 866's. These springs were in very good condition and gave me a plush, excellent ride, but I wasn't sure that they would hold up to the weight of my bedkit (double drawer), ARB refrig, and the new Slee rear bumper with dual swingarms for the tire and ladder with rotopak kit. In place of the 866's, I installed Slee's 2.5 Heavy's. (Let me know if you need 866's).

3) I got two buddies to come over and we installed the Slee rear bumper. This bumper is heavy and beefy, and I am very happy with the craftsmanship and the quality of the Anthracite Powder Coat!

I will post up some photos after it stops raining.

Photos below: I previously posted up that I picked up Slee's rear bumper in Anthracite PC during a trip west to east across country in November. Finally got the heavy rear coils and MetalTech adjustable upper control arms mounted, and put the bumper on. I had previously put Slee's Blueberry bumper on the front, upgraded the front end to the '06 grill and headlights morimoto HID, have Total Chaos IFS, Radflos, a TRD Supercharger, DT headers and catback, and the rear bed kit with drawers, tembo tusk load spotter, and ARB fridge. I am very happy with the way this landcruiser rides, handles and accelerates. Will think about the brakes next ala Espresso's mods.

Very nicely done, that's a beautiful rig

Thanks Dog,
Trying to keep it low key but capable. I enjoy landcruisers and have modded all of mine as a hobby, but I also work in Washington DC, and this is the bugout vehicle during an east coast crisis.

There was something that looked a lot like your truck parked in Langley Forest, McLean this AM around 9:00AM.
Was that yours?

No, not me!

I'm in the starter club also in the past week. Leaky sunroof is next week and replacing busted air box clamp. Detailing inside and out is much needed here also.

Louis, your LC looks fantastic! I didn't know you had such a nicely modded one.

Since I've had my LX since Dec 21st, I've been busy:
2,000 miles of road tripping
60k mile service (in progress)
Rear diff fluid change with Amsoil 75-90
Transfer Case change with Amsoil 75-90
Replaced cabin filters
Replaced engine air filter
Greased drivetrain
Replaced front and rear lift struts from MrLou
Added rear hitch.

Up next (tomorrow)
XD H1 Hid kit
Front diff fluid change with Amsoil 75-90
Tranny fluid change
Weathertech mats front to back

new rubber

Finally got the bling bling 20's of the rig (bought it with them) and got some OEM 18's with new 285/65-18" BFG A/T's on today. I love what wheels and tires do to a truck. Also removed running boards and cranked the torsion bars 4 turns, about .75" front lift.

Soooooo much more better !!

Intercooler upgrade

Replaced the stock intercooler in my HDJ100 4.2TD with 1HD-FTE engine to a bigger CrossCountry4x4 intercooler.

Thanks! You are going to really be pleased with the HID conversion. I have tried upgraded harnesses and relays, HIR bulbs, driving lights, but nothing comes close to the great lighting produced by a well set up HID projector kit. I did the LC depo lenses, but I think others on mud have done the LX conversion.

By the way, I can't remember if your interior was tan, but I have a set of tan Husky liners (front and rear) for the 100 series. They are in good shape and provide excellent protection. If you are interested, let me know, otherwise I will just post on the Classifieds.

Got it tagged and titled! New to me 100...
1999 LC, 187k. Stock with 285s BFG AT-KOs

This Week:
Fixed a broken third row seat release.
Ordered actuator motors for one dead door and one failing
Cranking the front torsion bars tomorrow a bit to level it out, alignment.
Dry lube the antenna

Next up in the plans:
Critical Fluids and clean the Throttle Body.
OME 2.5 HD Lift
ARB Safari Front Bumper. Fogs wired to factory stalk switch
Find a suitable rack for my RTT!

20Uzjiz, does your bar on the rack reflect off your hood badly?

I've had some trouble starting recently, and the battery terminals were pretty badly corroded. I game them a good cleaning, but the bolts are seized and I can't tighten them down very well. So I need to locate some of those this week.

I called a couple parts stores that didn't have anything for the positive side. Is that a dealer only thing?
