I’m not sure cause both times I immediately had the windshields tinted. 75% ceramic has been a lifesaver for me and my dash

New windshield! Out with the aftermarket, in with the OEM.

An interesting tidbit, dealer stated that the amber glass is NLA and that the only option is the slight green tint. Doesn't bother me, I like the subtle green hue. Zero wavyness at all when viewed off-axis, which is great considering what I had in there prior.

Installer said this was one of the first Toyotas of this vintage with zero signs of water intrusion or rust, very fortunate because I was nervous about what they would find. I guess Safelite did a half decent job about a decade ago.

I would definitely not run the front that high for an extended time frame. Coils aren’t crazy expensive…sell the heavies in classifieds and put on some mediums and bring the front down. I’m afraid that the rake is going to be pretty extreme if you just lower the front to around 22” but I guess you could start there and see what it yields.

Replaced the rear springs with the proper set needed for my application. Front sits 22” rear at 23.5”. All seems good now.

Have you tried Surface Shield? I saw that it is a similar formula to FluidFilm being Lanolin based.

Great question! Glass guy got it from a local dealer here in SC, but I know they had to then special order it. So I guess the SE parts network is down to green only.

Finally had time to perform my second timing belt/water pump job since ownership. Haven’t driven her for 3 months due to a horrible sound with loss of power. Turned out to be a seized tensioner pulley. Also, my timing belt was shredding itself apart.

Feels good to drive this thing again.

Today I noticed my left front wheel was off-camber by a few degrees, and panic set in fast. I dove behind the wheel, frantically started looking everything over, and sure enough, a fresh Tundra (555 brand) upper ball joint snapped. I limped to a Pep Boys, which is a block from my house, praying my wheel wouldn't collapse; I probably should have had it towed. I ended up ordering Freedom Off-Road units to replace the Nitros that I currently have. #onebattleafteranother.

Sanded it down to a bare metal, pressure washed it, sprayed it with break cleaner then did around 3-4 coats of this paint. Honestly it looks better than when it was new.

Deleted my heater tee's and put some new coolant mixture; what was supposed to be a 1 hr job ended up taking me 3 because the old hoses were almost fused to the heater pipes. Still, one less thing to worry about, and one failure point eliminated.

Seems like coolant was pushing pass my upper radiator hose on the engine side under long heavy stents of acceleration, so I replaced all 4 spring clamps and threw a new serpentine belt on because why the hell not.

Haven't posted in a bit-

Since spring, I've installed Tough Dog shocks on all 4 corners... massive fan. I like them better than the Dobinsons and Ironman (foam cell pro) I had on before-
Went with the regular foams up front and their adjustables in the rear. The adjustable rear is incredible- has completely changed how the rig drives. I also went with their plated panhard bar for some added Gucci-ness. If you're considering Tough Dog, just do it!! I'm happy to answer any questions. (Not sponsored just stoked)

Dobinsons adjustable rear lower arms went on about 3 weeks later. 2nd rig I've but them on. An obvious choice to me, but if I had the budget the Trail Tailor units would be on there.

Same week, I took a little rip over hwy 133 to Profitt's and picked up a set of 16" chrome -11's. Offset barely works with 33's (rubs heavy when wheeling, but hey, tires are consumables, right?). Thought it'd be a fun way to run this set of tires until I pop 17's/35s on this winter.

Other than that, wheeling every weekend and not posting about it on social media! haha
