Nothing too crazy. Cleaned up some tundra wheels for the new owner that's coming by. Then went and applied clearbra material underneath the wind deflector so the roof isn't marred anymore than it already is. Replaced those hideous silver bolts for some black oxide ones so it matches the rest of the hardware. Plus my daughter cut me some vinyl of our family crest so it's now proudly adorned on my DIY roof rack.
Rack looks really good! What do you figure you have in it for materials? I'm waiting on Victory 4x4 to send the black hardware they forgot to install mine that's... pretty much just like that. So I'm curious what you're into it for.

A bit over $500. The side rails I had to buy around 6061 plate which was a bit over $200 the extrusions we're $225 the stainless black oxide hardware $60(rounding up) I'm looking at close to $600

Nicely done. Nothing like getting a similar output for less money and learning something at the same time. Besides- all this 4x4 stuff is hobby time, right? So cost of time and stuff doesn't play in much.
Today I found some time to get the seats out of the 98 LC that has become a parts vehicle due to an unforeseen boating accident. They suck but they will do for now.
If any of you are parting out an LX I could use some pieces of the seat wiring harness as the prior owner sniped them. The prior owner managed to also break a nut cert on the passenger seat and had to cut that off. Getting there and hopefully next week the blinkers will be hooked up and we can hit a trail!
Nutserts usually have a lot of meat left, just retap and reuse. For the wiring , look for the other side under that carpet. Use 12g wires to connect the two ends, carefully matching the wire colors, there are only a few wires IIRC.
A self soldering and sealing kit is inexpensive and makes short work of connecting wires together.

Feeling cute……might delete later actually just removed OME 863’s installed Slee Heavy SOF2RH, gave it a few cranks on the torsion bars and got an alignment to prep for new tires. Shout out to the boys @ Tandem Offroad in Fort Worth, TX.

The nut cert ripped out of the body apparently as there is no more nut to screw into lol. The seats that I have are LC seats and the wiring is different between the two. I believe the LC seats are direct drive vs module controlled for the LX seats. They are just in there for now until I find some LX seats or another option. The wire splice kit looks sweet though might have to pick one up.
A make over and a winch. I’ve been waiting a long time for this. Picked up the bumper for a song (damaged in shipping) and a hammer, anvil, and some Rustoleum Bed Liner and it’s good as new.

Playing with wheel paint. I can’t decide if I want to go with gloss black, or gloss gunmetal. Pearl white LX470, 16” Land Cruiser rims. I’m not generally a fan of black rims, so thought some form of charcoal color would show some detail without looking like High School rattle can. Opinions?
Also, replaced my fob battery. Tiny little philips head screws, Energizer 1616 lithium battery and I'm back in business.

I didn't even have one, my sneaky 17 year old nephew cleared them all out the night before!
It wasn't that bad, it's a very straight forward process. It took longer to file down the edges than anything else.
I would like to have an aluminium option, even before loading it I can feel a weight difference (I kept the torsion bars intact). Installing riv-nuts would be a big improvement as well. If the latches were slightly recessed into the panel you wouldn't need to put those silly furniture sliders on the tailgate gap cover. I like the trunk carpet they use, I'd like to find more to put on top of my drawers.
Overall it's a great mod for the money spent. It will really help towards keeping my junk organized.
Those damn 17 years olds are slippery sometimes. That looks great. I think the carpet is a brand name marine-grade if memory serves. Maybe try checking out the local marina/ bass pro shop in your area for your drawers.
And then I only have 4 more rims to go. I’m not all that concerned with appearances, but my 16” rims are a little beat up. And if you’re going to dump endless money into a very old, it might as well look well-cared for. Thanks for the feedback.
My daughter’s Subaru wheels are going to get the same treatment, working on the theory that she'll care for it better if it looks nice. And her wheels are pretty hammered.
