Got rear-ended by a snowplow. Fortunately minor, but tailgate and tail lights are jacked up.

Guy who hit me has State Farm. Does anybody have experience/stories/advice working with their "Select Service" shops?

Any recommended auto body shops near Denver?
When i needed body work long time ago, Slee recommended Applewood Auto Body

yes they are, and are "waterproof" so if needed i can move some to the roof rack

also, i can have different boxes ready to go for different camp outs. i just switch boxes and do inventory when i have to. its a much more organized and modular system for me.
Exactly! Will be picking up 3-4 in different sizes and do exactly that, load up each one with different items for different trips (like long trips, shorts trips and day trips). Nice

Got any pics of your dual ram mount balls installation @bdobyns? I'm running a single on my OWL at present but was contemplating the addition of another.
Cheers mate,

Like I said, just need a longer bolt (m10). It is pretty solid, however there is some vibration issues, especially with the tablet.

Finally found the culprit to Bubbles' idle/partial-throttle misfire/hesitation.
Nether Scanguage or Tech-Stream showed anything, but knew something was amiss. Figured since I had fairly-recently (last summer) replaced all the coils as a PM, that might be it.
So bought a new coil, then just started down the line replacing, test drive, swap the next coil, test drive, etc...
After going down the driver's side coils, swapped the first one on the passenger side. Bingo! Smooth idle and no hesitation on partial throttle.
So I learned that a coil doesn't have to be "bad" to not be good...

installed asfir skids

Brakes! I’ve had ABS/VSC lights on for a little while (almost since I got it). They go off periodically so I ruled out broken sensors. Based on something that I‘m pretty sure I read here, I decided to replace the brake pads. The rotors are in very good condition fortunately, so I did just the front pads. The lights have been off since. I’ll do the backs this coming weekend, and bleed the system.

It stops great, the lights are off, and the traction control and ABS are working. Whew!

Also ordered new tires, which are have not yet arrived. 275/70R18, again thanks to this site for the fit information.

I was thinking about separating the mounting balls with the OWL mounting plate. Having one under and one over might mitigate vibrations...?
Good idea. I will give it a try on my next run.

Excited this week. Found a pair of 2864 springs on Amazon for basically half the price of new ones, they were listed as used. Called the company selling them and they said that they are brand new but had to put them in a different box and thus could not sell them as new. Hope that is the case. Should be here later this week. I have the 2860 springs now and with the rear bumper, swing outs, spare mounted further back, roof rack, sliders, skids, storage and all the other stuff plus bodies, things have started to sag. Contacted the guru, Christo, and it was either these or the 2863. Hope that this will make a difference, especially on the trail.

Finally added a disconnect switch for my winch. Had been thinking about it for over a year at this point.
@ftzgrlds1 planted the bug a while ago: What have you done to your 100 Series this week? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-100-series-this-week.609679/post-13436968
Used @Ramathorn15 supplied accessory mount tray: 100 Series Land Cruiser and LX470 Accessory Tray - https://owlexpedition.com/products/100-series-land-cruiser-and-lx470-accesory-tray

Also, added PCV valve cover (not sure what it does but it was under $2 to add to my Partsouq order. Final part I added is the main fuse box cover. Mine had busted clips and crumbling moisture seal.
Part numbers:
12236-50010 COVER, VENTILATION VALVE
82677-60010 COVER, JUNCTION BLOCK, UPPER NO.2

Well done sir, well done...

I paid a Toyota mechanic to replace all 6 heater hoses, T's, and 12 clamps with new OEM parts I ordered. The T's had been leaking and I requested the old hoses be cut off carefully to prevent the T's from crumbling and entering the system. The hot side T broke off, but all the pieces remained in the hose. This is on a 2006 with 108k miles in California stored in a garage. Anyone in the Bay Area looking for a quality Toyota shop should check out Toy Auto Clinic in Redwood City. They are nice, honest, and did quality work. I also had them do a few other things and will go back in the future.

What RPMs is it idling at and are they fluctuating while stopped? Any DTCs? Any change with ambient temps? Given what you’ve already replaced, I’d be combing over every vacuum hose looking for a leak.
No fluctuations in the rpm on the gauge happen while idling. It is just an uneven vibrating intermittently. While changing PCV and cleaning the throttle body(actually haven't felt it since those were done) I did find one hose from the back of the airbag to the intake manifold starting to split. I was also thinking it could be the wiring from coils to spark plugs. But the throttle body and PCV service seemed to help

I am new to the 100 series. Coming from the 40 forum OCD Bettle has a really successful, fun thread where we post a pic of wheeling, a fix, a new part, etc. for our trucks.

It's neat to see the mix of projects, daily driving issues, weekend wheelin reports, etc.

I thought the 100 forum could use one...

I'll start...today I ordered an Iron Man 2 inch lift kit for my 99'.
I ground out some rusty spots on my - new to me 98 470. I’ll fill them when the weather warms up next week.

I didn’t get completely finished with the grind out - but it’s a good start. I’m inspecting every inch of this “northern” 470 to deal with any rust. So far nothing in the frame or tubs.

Wow! I am glad I am in So Cal. Can't wait to see the finished product.
You are lucky indeed. This one is not so bad compared to some others I've seen. Mainly around the wheel wells. Mechanically I beginning to think it was a steal, but the body and undercarriage will need TLC.

We bought a Travel Buddy for the 100 and wow, what a great little oven! We often put 2x frozen pies or pasties in there as we leave home, about an hour later they're hot to eat! Draws around 7ish amps average, peak is <11A. We've had it about 6 months now and our only regret is not having got one sooner :) you can also cook, bake, and re-heat - no problems at all!
