All my recent apple products have been made in Vietnam. US is no better. Japan is declining too due to EPA requirements and lower quality standards.

Yep, with all the downsides of the 80 and even worse, limited maintenance location options.
I don't see the downside of the 80. My 80 is built with 35s and a 2.5" lift, so isn't amazing on the highway, but stock, the 80
is a great vehicle.
I daily drive my grenadier about 90 miles a day with a mix of secondary road and highway driving. I don't have any meaningful complaints about the vehicle itself (except the HVAC which feels like it was tacked on as an afterthought). Everything worth griping about is external to the vehicle (dealer network, service cost, parts availability, manufacturer survival). If this vehicle had a Toyota badge, plus parts and service through the Toyota dealer network, it would be a winner. The B58 engine is in the Supra, so that doesn't seem insane.

That generation of supra is just a BMW, because Toyota couldn’t make enough money off a sports car to justify developing their own. The FRS being a Subaru is another example.
While people are making a ton of power with the b58, it’s not a 2JZ (when adjusted for the timeframe they were introduced.)

we bought a 250... its not the same and probably will be sold on when my wife is done with it. She likes it so who knows. My 2017 200 has 180K ish and its totally fine but i have been thinking of what to add (not sure about replacing it actually, just sticking it in the garage for when i want to use it but idk if i'll be able to do that or not.. time will tell.... Anyway what i'm goign to replace it with is a Grenadier with lockers stock and not sure what else. the theory i am going on is A) only thing besides a classic defender or a troppy that you can pop top that is not 20 years old (i already have a classic defender and just having one is the right number of them, thank you). My use case is vehicle parts and build outs, on the Gren i want to take a stock truck and just build the added bits, better shocks but no lift a pop top and full interior build out (electrical etc..) for overlanding use which is my main use of them.
GSO is their nearest dealership in central NC. I’ve been eyeing some of their offerings recently too. They have quite a few in stock there and are compelled to move product best I can tell.
yes I agree - for me lockers a non-negociable option, and i hope to have trailer wiring as well since its a pain to add. i would like the like the exterior wiring but that can be added in the config i want.

I ended up just getting another. Outside of the 300 series LX, nothing else offers three rows and similar articulation/suspension sophistication. And the 300 series felt marginally smaller (even though on paper, some of the cargo capacities are larger).
I will say the new Armada Pro-4X drove quite well, but it turns out it still isn't a "real" Patrol (it still uses nerfed differentials e.g. R180 front and R240 rear vs R205 front and R248 rear), which is not something the early reviews picked up.
