Wheeled the wee out of it for 8 days. Broke all four knuckle studs despite torquing them every morning. That was just about all the carnage.

Spent a lot of time in the passenger seat or spotting due to a recently repaired elbow. Pig took every stupid line we could throw at it.

of course, even though it was the first time I've had the opportunity to take action pics of the pig, I didn't take even one.

edit - Some other folks did though.

it was tranny day at my house and it had nothing to do with the pride parade downtown. dropped the tranny in the blue pig to put in a new oem rear main and new output seal, it's all back in except the interior...i want to do a good cleaning. also pull the h41 from a friends bj44 and swapped in an h55, he just needs driveshaft work to be done. not bad for a day of screwing off.

got em buttoned up just before the rain

1974 pig- fiddled with the carb...more and it still won't idle....seems to be running too rich.

1972 pig- dropped the oil pan (again) to fix the infamous oil leak between the pan and the skid plate.

Finally got her on the road again. Bought a parts rig with a brand spankin new OME 4 inch lift kit on it. I got all that installed, and reinstalled the old stuff on the parts rig. Replaced the old 3 speed tranny with a 4 speed, drove it, it was crap, so I did it again with another donor 4 speed... and it runs great. I am so tired of the smell of gear oil. And my knuckles are still recovering.
Next is the custom internal roll cage that came on the parts rig as well as the front sway bar. Then maybe the long range tank... unless someone comes and gives me some money for it.

No pic's yet. It originates next to the front seat, follows the B pillar and then crosses just behind your head. It is actually too close to my head and I will be cutting that bit and making it a little higher and closer to the headliner. From the top of the B pillars, two bars follow back to the cargo area where they meet up with two more uprights that have a cross member that crosses just behind the top of the back seat, but above the heads of the seated people there.... whew... this is hard to describe.

I have not extracted all of it from the rig. It comes apart. My friend rolled another pig with the thing in it and he claims it saved his and another's lives. I'll post a photo of it when I get it all out.

sounds like the old bar that specter used to carry. i've got on in my 71

My piggy went and passed her Emissions/Inspection with flying colors! Yippie!!! LEGAL!!!!

Ige,
Yep, I think it was the same one. I just looked at some photos today of the same one. Just about ready to put it in. I hope I don't hit my head on it. I'm too big for this world.

Just installed the front sway bar and new OME steering dampener.... wow what a difference. Just gotta make the links removable.

front sway bar isn't facotry, but i think i remember it being an offering possibly through specter a couple of decades ago. i'll have to dig out the old specter catalogs

I got it as part of the parts rig. I think it came from Man a fre. I will post up a photo. I need to make the links a quick DC...

Here ya go.... sway bar porn on the front of a 72 pig. The links need help. They are not quite long enough but I put them on until I can fab up some disconnectable links. This thing corners like.... a pig with a sway bar. It handles the road much better, but is too stiff for the trail with the links attached.

rearranged the body stash...it's too hot to be outside doing anything else, so i'll just stare at my pigs from my cooled house:D

Flushed and drained the engine oil. It was black and old.
Flushed the cooling system, removed the brown yuck water and refilled with nice green coolant.
Bought touch up cans of 653 olive and 012 cygnus white, and repaired some major paint defects.
removed the oil pressure sender and cleaned it out in a bid to get the gauge to work. no good.
removed a license plate holder to replace a blown globe, dropped it on the ground and smashed the glass lens. also no good.

Finally got it back on the road with new 33 10.5's. Wow... it gave me another 2 inches of lift with those tires.
