@blatant Thanks! Very happy with the turn out.

Picked up the complete Depo set for the front, plus the taillights, wiring, and bulbs for $300 off CL.

did a bunch of PM last weekend:

  • changed the oil in F/R diffs and transfer case
  • Trans drain and fill
  • Oil Change
  • Radiator drain and fill (flush coming soon)
  • Changed spark plugs
  • Drive Shafts lubed, but I couldn't get my grease gun on the zirk for the rear shaft slip yoke. Bought a needle tip today. I should just drop them and clean them out and lube them.
  • new seal on firewall where steering linkage goes through (Thanks to Phil for the write up)
  • Removed bug deflector. Truck looks much better without it, but the paint under the deflector needs help.
  • Extended front diff breather
  • New blue hub fan clutch with 30k CST oil
  • New belts

Slides are installed and look great! The person that did them I found on Facebook. His name is Ty Snow. He built them and installed for $300 including painting. He is located in Gilbert and does a wide array of stuff for pretty reasonable prices. His website is Home

I created a half rack/tray for my waterproof gear to mount on my load bars. I built it out of 2" and 1" mild steel bar and designed it around my big green Pelican case. I hated wasting all that roof space when my Yakima Space Case is on so problem solved. Of course my dumb a** waited till it was 115 degrees to fire up the torch and welder and build something

Please share your creative (non bungee cord) ideas for securing this stuff to the rack!

I had some overheating issues on the last run of the month. Thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, and radiator cap have all been replaced in the last two years.

New aftermarket radiator from Performance Radiator installed at Camelback Toyota. Thanks, Murf!

Good Luck, hope it works for you!

I had the same issues, even with a newer (2yo) CSF radiator. Everything in my cooling system is new in the last 3 yrs. I bumped my timing back, and need to juice the fan clutch (it is newer, Aisin, but is getting some 10k on my 3fe). Hopefully that will help. My temps got as high as 217 on the Koso gauge when we were climbing in 2nd gear on the June ROTM.

Keep us posted on the results

Everything looks good so far. Drove the Cruiser to work today. Averaged around 200 degrees with the AC on full blast on the way home this afternoon.

Looking forward to the next run.

How high was the coolant temperature?

It was running between 210 and 220 at the highest. On the last climb to the Stone man lake exit, the stock gauge started climbing. That was with no AC and the heater on full blast.

My normal running temp is usually between 185 and 195.

I like them without running boards

Good choice,
3rd Gen is going Pro comp. Good reviews (up there with Toyo's), may even consider their MT2 when it's time to replace the BFG KM2's on the 40.
