Build What did you do to your Land Cruiser/Toyota/Lexus 4X4 this week?

On the FJ40, new water pump, all hoses, thermostat, and upper thermostat housing. Tomorrow I find out if my work leaks?!?!

I found some used vented 15x9 Chevy truck wheels for a decent deal. I then had the center bore enlarged and clips added for the Toyota hub cap. Followed up with stripping and powder coating. In the end, it almost cost about the same as shipping OE's to Stockton Wheel to have widened. lol

I do like the vented wheel for cooling the brakes....hard to see since its black. I still have the Centerlines and make go back to them down the road, like to roll the more classic look for a while. I was afraid going to the much heavier wheel giving a harsher ride. It wasnt any different but may be due from switching at the same time from mud tires to the new K02. I've driven many different brands and type of tire but the newly designed K02 are hand down the best tire I've driven for what its worth.
 
While hanging out at the in-laws in Bakersfield, I decided to tackle the leak under the passenger side dash. In the AC condenser, there is a little rubber gasket at the bottom, part number 88578-47040. During the summer, I was getting drips in the passenger side floor board. Based on some Mud posts, decided to replace this gasket. Sorry, no pics of the gasket, but I did take a pic of the all of the other crap in there.

Also, before I left on my trip, I took my 1.5 year old X2 power 31M battery to Batteries Plus. I wasn't getting the full amp hours out of the battery. Even with my 100 watt solar panel, I wasn't able to run my fridge full time without the system voltage dropping below 12.2. They ran a quick test and replaced the battery with no issues. I've been running my fridge full time since I left Scottsdale last Wednesday. Even leaving it parked at the in-laws house, it's staying around 12.6. Fridge is mostly full, and I'm sure the low temps are helping. I wouldn't exactly say Bakersfield has blue skies, but I'm getting enough sun to keep the battery topped up during the day.

Your picture convinced me I need to convert my organic cabin filter to a real cabin filter.
 
This past week I replaced the regulator and motor on my DS window. More importantly, I have begun (my first) front axle job which needs to include swapping sides on the birfs (hearing clicking on the PS that dropped the lower steering arm when all my nuts fell off the studs), replacing rotors and, if I can lay my hands on a pair, the inner axle oil seals (why don't the rebuild kits come with this?!!!).

The axle job is consuming my life. Day two of asking my wife for a ride to work (juggling fulltime job). I have the knuckle housings off the knuckles at this point and about to pull the birfs...pretty much all I can think about....
 
Got the left side knuckle stripped down, cleaned and repainted, now it's time to repeat on the right side knuckle!!!
Need to find a place to pickup some 60 series disc brakes and rotors..., any ideas?

It is a Four Wheel Camper Grandby. I would have preferred a Hawk, but this works with the tailgate down. Basically a gutted shell. Here go my free weekends through the spring...

In preparation for receiving the rebuilt engine this week, I degreased and pressure washed the undercarriage, engine compartment and peripheral engine parts of 22 yrs and 236,000 miles of oil and grime. Also took a couple hours to clean and inspect the entire engine harness. Found quite a few bare wires at the connectors and a pair of wires going to an injector that were bare and likely shorting. Used liquid tape and anti-chaff fabric tape to repair all the problems.

Looking forward to getting it going too! It appears that a bad injector leaned the cylinder out and burned a hole in the #1 piston.
