Made a custom adapter for my Yaesu. Super pleased with how it came out!

Nice install OG. How about pix of your antenna ? 😊 I didnt know Slee makes that nice mount.

Here’s my LX install which is Spartan compared to yours and my LC installs.

I love the installs!

I'm using the LC300 Scrub King mount straight from AU with the Comet CA-2x4SR; and according to my cheaper antenna meter, I managed 1 - 1.05 SWR on HAM and GMRS frequencies! Very pleased with the install and the spring section (not pictured) already paid for itself in Moab!

Nice OG. Good job. As long as the SWR and impedance are good, youll be going distance and wont burn the finals on the radio.

Lost power thanks to the heavy wet snow storm. Ended up wiring the LX to my furnace lol!

Truck is working perfectly in "generator mode" and the house is nice and toasty.

Did you run a long extension cord from the LX outlet to your furnace?

Yep!

12ga extension cord to my furnace in the basement. Temporilarily discconnected my furnace from mains and wired a pig tail into it at the junction box. Started up the truck and voila I have a warm house again. My particular furnace has a max current drawing of 13amps which is comfortably below the 20A capacity of the 700's inverter.

What surprised me is how infrequently the truck needed to start to charge back up even during initial power up of the furnace. Also pro-tip: make sure to turn off ALL the HVAC and coolbox in the truck when in "generator mode" as it reduces the amount of startups and cooling fan noise.

It's doing absolutely amazing. The trailer is approximately 7000lbs with tongue weight roughly 770. Towed 800 miles so far in 75 to 95 degree heat with 6% grades. Trans temp and oil temp goes just a hair above the middle on the bar graph. Simply love it as long as the engine doesnt blow lol

Were you up against GVWR? 770 tongue weight would mean you have about 400 lbs left for passengers and cargo.

Yeah probably about ~100lbs over gvwr. Stays in normal height mode no problem.

For those of you in the cracked chin club what did you end up doing? Did you just order new plastic? How many of you are planning on going with an aftermarket bumper? I plan on eventually putting on the dissent bumper but having to take it there for the install huge pain in the ass. Probably worth it in the end.

I'm in the scuffed chin club. I've left it alone. Plan to Dissent the vehicle in the future.
