Went to a few tourist traps.

Lubed the speedometer cable. I had this rubbing noise in cold weather for the last 5-6 years. it was a rotational noise that would get a bit better with driving. I could never figure out whether it was the left or right side. After swapping to manual hubs , I eliminated the brakes and wheel bearings as culprit.
I readup on the speedo cable issues and decided to lube the cable. On a prado takes about 15 mins to get the dash out of the way. you have to feel your way with fingers behind and unhook the elec. connector and the speedo cable tab.
The transfer case end is really easy. I used silicon spray lube. I only took about a foot out and sprayed into the hole up top on and off for about 30 mins. I would then push and pull the cable in and out to get the lube to trickle down . It got really smooth after a while.
while I had the dash open, changed a burned out light bulb as well. Put everything back together , pumped some air into tires and took for a short drive.
No noise at all, thank God.
It had been bugging me for the last so many years with countless attempts around the front and rear axle.
Now some pictures.

Replaced bell cranks and pins so I can have an e-brake. Judging by the corrosion the e-brake wasn't used for a long, long time.

It's been a busy few days. Took both my cruisers with a mate up a river at the weekend. He ended up hitting a old pile that he did not see and bent both the tie rod and drag link..... Used a ratchet strap to get it straight enough to to drive home.

Took a quick spin today, trailhead is 100 yards from the house, the rocks are maybe a mile...roundtrip was 45 minutes...tee shirt weather today too :) Good excuse to loosen up the OME suspension I installed yesterday.

ARB LED's get wired in Monday, waiting on connectors for the ground-switching.

Okay Beno, you didn't like the white stuff. But was wheeling in it worth your while?

White stuff is GOOD. Wish we could have several fresh feet of it here in VT! - My 70 series is chillin' in my garage while I forecast a warmish day to swap out the bat-trays….

Well played. Very cool, looks like 15+ years ago. Knobs, buttons, cassette, love to have one. How did you jack in the iPod?

Thank you, I used an iPod inline fm modulator I've had kicking around for sometime. To power on the modulator and iPod charger I used a factory fog light toggle to power it on when needed.
