Tackled a critically important project today...polished the brake light housings on my BJ74. They weren't terrible to begin with, but I had a headlight restoration kit from Harbor Freight laying around so decided to give it a shot. For $10 and 15 minutes, not too bad. I was even able to use the same kit to clear up the headlights on my '01 LS430.

After (much better, despite these pictures making the difference a bit hard to see)

Wow, Perrobravo and 1978HJ45, what great results! I recently got myself a product from Meguiar's called 'PlastX' ('clear plastic cleaner and polish', their own words), and it made quite a difference. I used it on the front turn signals/marker lights, as they were as dull as can be. It certainly appeared to work, but i reserve my opinion until i light them up again.
Your results, however, look like new lenses. Slick!

Making sway bar bushing clamps for new urethane bushings. Factory are too large and it's Easier to just make a set than search for the correct size.

Looks good. Where can I buy a set?

Yea Black Duck, they are expensive at $300-400 NZ a set but are the best you can buy around here. Normally mainly for commercial use, thick waterproof canvas, plus come in two parts for each seat (base/back)

As a heads up, the high beam indicator may not work. I have those on my 74 and love them. But they don't draw enough to illuminate the high beam indicator on the dash. That said, if you need the high beam indicator to know you have these on high, you are beyond legally blind :)

thanks! ill add a 6 ohm resister like i did with my led turn signals on the nissan to see if that fixes it.

If it does, please post up pics and instructions for those of us that follow the British school of thought on electrical .... the insulation keeps the smoke in , when the smoke comes out, it is off to the store to buy more Lucas replacement smoke.

"To dark for pics" ....... The "flash" was invented in the 1800's. :)
