I don't know if it is "really" available but it shows available on Amayama. This is for non-flared <60161-60410>

If you are not in any hurry I can get full oem replacement panels for the 73 but they come at a high cost and the earliest I can get them in the US would be February March 2022 . Shipping from Texas to you will be completely your responsibility also ;)
This is the most desired route (NOS). I am willing to pay whatever it takes for OEM and I am not in a rush.

The only currently available panels will have OEM flare mounting holes, correct Joe? Those holes can be filled to suit 74s and early 73s as required.

My BJ73 has factory flares, so this would actually be ideal.

Amayama thinks they have found a panel (they confirmed availability) but upon payment it was auto-cancelled. Waiting to hear back from their reps as they are sleeping now. If they can't source one for me, I hope to work with Joe so we can put this thing back together with 100% original parts.

Thanks all, to be continued...

Were you trying for a 410 or a 420. Looks like you would want a 420 if the Russian catalog is correct.

Actually the part # (w/ over fender) that Amayama said was available was 60161-60280.

The "K14" above was found to be unavailable by Amayama.

It will be interesting to hear what they have to say (fingers crossed that the auto-cancel was a fluke), I'll update the forum when I find out. @cruiserdan the parts you are looking at seem to be for model year '90 and forward FJ or FZJ. Those panels seem to be several kilos lighter, so maybe not quite as heavy duty (Toyota probably reduced gauge as years went on). Nonetheless, may still be viable.

The weight difference could also be in the packaging.

Further digging indicates 60161-60410 and 60161-60420 are for soft-tops.

They may still work however.

These are way cheaper then what I can get in Europe , let us know if they are available as I probably will buy a pair also , shipping is ridiculously cheap for such an oversized part !
Will do, hopefully talking to some brokers tonight or tomorrow am.

OK..so my other pesky unfinished projects are 90%finished…. hell you might as well say done and dusted, so I can now stare at my precious on a Friday at the local ale shop.
Liking the front bar without the loop, thinking of keeping it that way?
Aircon sorted and working fine. Next I’m taking my trailer/ camper hybrid to my son’s as he has a shed now, which I am lacking and retro fitting heaps of 12V items I took off my boat project like solar and inverters.
Dropping the oil on the weekend for the first time since the rebuild in preparation of a sneaky 4x4 long weekend coming up. I think improving the brakes are next, because stopping is important.

1970 fastback. Never had a vw before. Just got it last week. It was what my wife had for her first car. We'll see how far we get on it, no engine or trans. and smells like mice have been living in it a while. Just joined The Samba, trying to find parts. Looks like parts are much cheaper and more available for them than Land Cruisers.

I've used a Coors box, a PBR box and last year, cut a 'custom' box out of some heavier gage cardboard. Thought I'd get fancy this year with the raft material and bolt it on.
I have a mountain of smaller type 1 parts, bushings, cables, books etc

Pulled out the vinyl floor today to see what the PO left behind under it...
1. A layer of cotton recycling stuff as isolation and sound dampening. Humid. To be removed.
2. Pieces from a camping mattress.
The floor panel showed the expected bridle asphalt sound deadner. Removed it...
Diagnosis:
Driver footwell: OK. Some surface rust spots under that asphalt stuff. No problem.

Passenger footwell: Not so well. An area is heavily rusted, with a hole. The drain hole has trippled in size. PO had covered it with plaster. :-(
I need to find somebody to weld in some patches..

The vinyl floor is torn. I'm tempted to get it replaced, but I must first use my budget to fix the floorplan undercoating.
Cheers

Any pics of your PDI setup?
See if this works... posted some on this thread a while ago...

They were taken the day Tor and Nick installed it and the fuel rod last year. LMK if you want to see something specific. Dropped my temps and PDI was awesome to work with. It's in flux. Adding in Tor's custom air cleaner box and replacing the current hobbled together turbo with a Gturbo and OEM parts next month.
