Holley on the 72 and propane on the 79...

And anyone that hates their Holley 2 barrell can send them to me :D

I love them

Holley 2-barrels are good, but not enuf for a smallblock
Holley 4-barrels suck, period....
Edlebrock Performer and Carter AFB are nearly identical, and can be tweaked to work adequate
Quadrajunks are by far the best offroad.

I started with a Holley 4-barrel....lasted 3 weeks before I scrapped it...went to a tweaked Carter and ran that for a long time...finally was convinced to run the qjet and loved that instantly...

course, the TBI I run now tops them all....lol

I guess I meant to say that have a V8 conversion.Thanks

And still another 20 post about 1F & 2F carbs after that :flipoff2:

Quadrajet is the way to go. Been running mine since the v8 swapand have never looked back. Ran it like it was, didn't touch a think on it and it works great angles. Had a lot of people think I had FI.

Yes, from the CA source you mention, LP, but it will be a recycled one. :)

The name that dare not be mentioned?

Q-Jet on my 350 and my 454.

When I started wheeling over 20 years ago, I spent a lot of time at the campfire listening to the old timers talking about their experiences. I ran with a group of Chevy people who had basically tried everything available on the market. Their carb stories were always the same. They cussed out the ‘Quadra junk’ and put on a Holley. Six months later the Holley was on the shelf and they were sure a Carter AFB would be the silver bullet. A year later, the venerable Rochester was back on the rig! I figured I just saved myself a lot of headache and $$ by leaving well-enough alone.
