Brian- that frame looks familiar!!! told you it was pretty decent and the price was sure right, and not too far from you either! Good luck with such an ambitious project.

On our way up to bald eagle state forest stopped at the Sears in Harrisburg for my 2nd replacement die hard platinum marine battery. They were the only store in the area to still have one laying around. frustrating that this is the third battery in two years but nice of them to keep replacing.

Wife wasn't thrilled with hanging out in the Sears parking lot for thirty minutes so now we're shopping at wegmans!
Earlier this year the winch in my 40 didn't want to work, tracked the problem down to a bad battery. The 40 had two Optimas in it when i bought the truck six years ago, one red, one yellow. Don't know how long they'd been in the truck before that. I replaced the secondary battery with a big Interstate and prior to heading to Moab replaced the primary battery with the same Interstate number. Not sure of the model/size offhand but they are big and powerful. No more problems with the winch not getting enough power! When I bought my 80 Todd told me the secondary battery in it needed replaced and I put a big Interstate in there, too. I like Interstate batteries (obviously) and buy them from a guy two miles from my house who does all my state inspections.

Got the top off the 40 for the summer makes a difference in the fun factor and also handles better on the road without that weight up top. Still can't say which way i like the looks of it better, with the top on or without it. Also tracked down some minor issues from the Moab trip all have been addressed and the truck is ready for coal mine or a prior trip to Anthracite.

It is pretty great.
I am in need of a 60 series transmission cross member for it....if you happen to run across one.

@brian @Dedtruk is parting a 60 right now in Southern Jersey. Maybe he still has the cross member.

Thanks, Yellowjacket. I need the 2F/H42/split TC to go and I'll pull the crossmember at the same time.

Keep me in mind for the cross member then.

I like a 40 with a hard top!!!
But for wheeling a 40 the top gets in the way!

Only think left to do before I see if she runs is fill the tank with diesel.

I also threw on one of my re-finished tundra wheels with 37" Cooper STT Pro. I am shocked how well proportioned it looks with 37's.

Among other things, I have been splitting my free time working on a bunch of house projects, I am nearly done with my chicken coop run.

I'm in the middle of my kitchen remodel. Got the floor wrapped up last night. Cabinets go in next week. What's killing me is I have springs, a bumper, winch, and skids all lying in wait to go on my FJ.

I'm in the middle of mine too. I need to rip up the sub floor and see what the termites did. I also need to brace it so my tile doesn't crack

Dinner! Thanks to @beno for helping me keep it classy. Happy Father's Day guys!

Finally got put in a new Trans screen and fresh fluid. Haven't done any maintenance to the tranny in 4 years and who knows when the previous owner let it go.
