Some progress on the fuel tank. I'm pretty close to installing the tank and hooking up fuel for this... found out that the fuel pump bracket had been altered didn't actually fit in the tank. so I'm having to chop that up and make it smaller to work...

The battery in the hundred died last week. On Thursday morning it barely turned over but it started so I went to work knowing what was going to happen.

Got a coworker to help me jump it and went straight to the store and got a new Duracell. Same that's been in the 80 for 8 years and doesn't get started for a while sometimes.

The kid in the store asked me if I wanted him to install it for me.
To which I replied that's literally the last thing I want.

Lolololol wow how did he respond 😂😂

Got some good welding in today. My tacks are coming along super pleased with this new Hobart welder. You can see the halo indicating good penetration. Does better than the Lincoln same size

I took zero pictures, but a big shoutout to club members @Land Shark and @FamilyCamper for coming over this afternoon to help with the rear bumper build. We fought welder issues most of the afternoon and after fighting with the settings, checking voltage from the panel, and laying dozens of test welds on some scrap we figured out we were slipping wire at the drive wheel if the mig lead wasn’t perfectly straight. Going to need to send in some info for warranty or I might try running 0.30 wire rather than 0.35 and see if that helps. Also, the towing cross member that came with the kit is about 1/2” short and was never going to work so I will need to pick up some square tube to make another. All part of the fun!

That work area is way too clean!

Can you tighten the knob to put more pressure on the wire to make it feed better?

My garage is my slice of getaway in this house, yet the Mrs. and kids just love to fill it with anything and everything they can. I just can’t get over the cleanliness of Jay’s working space. Not a drop of oil on the floor or kids toy in sight!

To be fair, this is my little backyard shop that I built last summer. It’s just where I have a 240v plug already wired. It’s intended to be a wood working shop, and I haven’t finished building it out. Had kids and met this group of Land Cruiser enthusiasts that found other ways for me to spend my time and money. My attached garage with all my toolboxes and work benches has all the cozy coupes and oil stains your heart desires.

The oil and fuel covered concrete provides the old car smell I want in my shop

I am finishing up on the 06 4runner. So I turned back to axle prep on Lynchburg Lemonade. I cut the housing so I can rotate the pinion up and set better caster.

pipe cutter is the way to go on this so you get a uniform cut and do not go too deep.

How many degrees are you rotating the knuckles?
On a SOA I would do about 12 deg. On my new suspension set up, I am not sure, I need to see if I have any driveshaft bind. My main concern is to get caster in the -6 range.
