Treated the 80 to its second fill up on ethanol free gas. Definitely makes as difference on performance and my wallet.

Side project complete! If anyone ever needs 4040 extrusion hardware / odds & ends, hit me up.

Back at another stopping point. I think maybe the heat from the axle / hub meltdown messed up the wheel cylinder for the brake on that left side. I thought the original steel line had finally cracked and thus the leak as i tried to bleed em. Well first i though the fitting was loose. Made and flared a new line for that long side of the axle (came out pretty good if i say so myself), but same leak at the union with the wheel cylinder. Otherwise, shocks, driveshaft, and sway bar are all reattached and she’s almost road ready again.

Will be a good time to clean off my dining room table of auto & carpentry tools and junk while I wait on RockAuto!

Nope, hanging with Betsy in garage over drinks.
Nice that's a good place to chill haha. Surprised I guess those 35s just have a lotta rubber!!

Well thought I was going to swap in a new muffler replacement this morning to "replace" the old one but unfortunately realized I was shipped the wrong system... A little too mean without a muffler currently

Little push last night for a couple of hours and some small stuff today and this project is leaving my driveway. Still got a ton of parts to store/organize and list up for sale so the work is not done just yet.

Tire carrier was getting a little tight. Self lubricating bronze bushing-not so much. Drilled and tapped for zerk fitting. 💯 better. Also added a support block for less stress on bushings and welds while bouncing down the trail.
Zerk fitting to the inside so don’t rip it off when/if get too close to obstacle.

After final clean up i slipped the new again rear springs. These are Eibac 1" lift. 220 lb rate. With these it sits just a hair over stock and the front is a "1 as well.

Remember she has a 150lb adgu drawer and sleeping platform. Stock tires for reference.

Well after Charles happening, Beaches washed out bearings and blown seals, I decided I should check rhe ones on Gumby.

Pass side washed out on outer bearing and started to wash. Brakes dry. This has been on my list for a while. Most GM full float axles use the gear lube.

Little fun project. Not finished but its mounted and my phone has a home for now

In prep for the next Overlanding adventure, i installed my quick release awning mounts and installed some 10mm spacers in the front of the 80 to add a little tension on them. With the "L" shocks the "J" springs are a little short and they creak when turning out of the parking lot at work. I can not have that!😁

Also wanted to say thank you to Rob and Willow Lawn Sevice center for getting my emergency brake working very well. I now have proof that just using stock components its possible to have a very functional E-brake on an 80 series.
awesome. Now that they have practice I might drop mine off ;)
