Went to change the fan clutch & found this

Well the fan clutch was turning way to easy even after being driven for a long time so at 285K I thought time to change it...... well after getting it off I found this:crybaby:

Looks like the clutch has loosened up & then allowed the pulley to start cutting the pulley studs.

Glad I found this before the studs were cut in half.

Guess Monday AM Toyota getting a parts order.....

I would elongate the holes so they fit over the studs easily and reuse that pulley. If the fan clutch is tight, it won't move :D
Really, easy enough to find in the wrecking yard.
That fan clutch must have been very loose to do that. :wrench:

Excuse me while I go out to the garage and double check that new water pump installation.

Well new parts installed:doh:, kinda weird, just kept going back & checking things after all was assembled & running.

Fingers crossed!!!
