You are staying in the middle of the Solid Axle Summit venue base camp. We’ve always wondered how aggravated those folks must be up in that house above the back side of the campgroundHouston GX. Well equipped. Jen wants one of these.... I told her we have too many cars for homeless folks..

I went back to the OME Heavies. Love where its at now. I was following SAS Summit, web wheeling while in Grand Marais. This is Jens trip, we are gathered with 40 other full timers, and yes, that house up there will be hearing plenty from us. Today we head over to Telluride. Fall colors are jumpin! You are staying in the middle of the Solid Axle Summit venue base camp. We’ve always wondered how aggravated those folks must be up in that house above the back side of the campground. Enjoy your homelessness. Great time of year to be there. Cooling off. Hope you can go back next August for SAS.
Glad to hear the suspension is doing well. I see all these guys with really sexy looking stuff, but don’t think I can part with the utilitarian OME heavies installed by the PO. Hard to beat…
That Medano Pass trail in the back of Great Sand Dunes is really fun. I’ve done it once dry with great sand along the trail and once during a big thunderstorm after raining all day and it was totally different…Day to day... Some travel days you make better time than others. We wanted to get over to Trinidad CO but @razzoo was not feeling well. We spotted a small town of Amarosa Co and decided we would call it a day. Found a great spot downtown with terrific connectivity to allow me to work uninterpreted Monday and Tuesday. In route we took notice of the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Its was within 30 miles of our home for the next couple of days. After work today we took off in search of that next patch for the LX. What we did not know is like Big Bend it had a 4x4 trail we could explore. Some deep sand, a creek crossing and beautiful fall colors with amazing views. Wish we could have done the entire pass but daylight was burning. I was able to assist a big Ford truck in teh deep sand buy showing the kid how to lock in his hubs.. Old fat ruck did surprising well in the deep sand. I experimented a bit and found low, second gear start fully locked made the stuff pretty easy. Tuesday we will continue our march to OKC... happy we stumbled on this place.. sorry about the massive photo... not sure what i did there.

Niiice. May sure they take care of the LX and keep it in a garage!Well... Sunday we welcomed this adorable little vehicle to the fleet. 2008, GX470 non-nav. I know, its not a Landcruiser so I risk banishment from this forum. We have been keeping an eye out for a non-nav GX 08/09 for some time now. Price was right as was the timing. The plan for the next year does not involve much if any off road adventures. We will leave the LX with family in Texas and outfit the GX for flat towing. We will miss the LX, but welcome the spunk the GX provides...Fresh paint via Lexus warranty, new fabric on the front seats and this thing rips! Cup holders and audio are worthless, have to find solutions there.... Should be a fun build over the next few months. For homeless folks we have way too many cars.... if thats possible.
