well after putting it off and putting it off i have finally decided to treat my cruiser to some much needed window runs and seals and maybe some door jam seals as well. what else will be needed while doing this? i have looked around a little but have not found much. does anyone know where i can order all of this from and maybe have some part numbers, or do they sell kits or what?? it would be greatly appreciated.

Any Toyota dealer can get you the parts.

There is no "kit" per se from Toyota. Some aftermarket suppliers might have a kit put together.

Part Numbers that you will need to procure:

WINDOW RUNS:

68141-90A03 X2 (LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT RUNS)
68143-90A01 X2 (LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT RUNS, LOWER)
68142-90A01 X2 (LEFT AND RIGHT REAR RUNS)

INNER DOOR BELT MOULDINGS:

68170-90A01 X2 (FRONT DOORS)
68190-90A01 X2 (REAR DOORS)

OUTER DOOR BELT MOULDINGS:

75710-90A02 X1 (RIGHT FRONT BELT MOULDING)
75720-90A02 X1 (LEFT FRONT BELT MOULDING)
75730-90A01 X1 (RIGHT REAR BELT MOULDING)
75740-90A01 X1 (LEFT REAR BELT MOULDING)

DOOR FRAME WEATHERSTRIPPING:

67861-90A00 X1 (RIGHT FRONT DOOR)
67862-90A00 X1 (LEFT FRONT DOOR)
67872-90A00 X1 (LEFT REAR DOOR)
67871-90A00 X1 (RIGHT REAR DOOR)

Now what are the prices running on these

Probably best to call for prices....they are fair as others will attest but do realize that OEM weatherstripping and seals are not cheap.

I've done the leg work for you...at least a minimum "refresh" if I was doing the work on my own 60.

Cheers.

well thank you very much beno. tell me this, i found a guy selling some fj80 parts near my home and he has a brand new driver side window run he is trying to sell. do you think this will work?

Before you go dropping any $$$ on them doors make sure they dont have cancer on them.....
I need to get the driver side front & rear weather seals..too...

Damn these rigs are bottomless $$ pits.......................................................Sweeeeeet !!!

My ham-fisted body shop tech broke numerous of the white retaining clips on all four of the window belt mouldings (FJ62 75720,7510, 75730, and 75740). The mouldings are otherwise in serviceable condition. We can possibly canibalize some clips off of one to get another restored. I've looked around all the normal sources, but I'm only finding discontinued...or used at CP.

@beno or others have any suggestions? Thanks.

The mouldings have a metal strip inside them that rusts. If you have removed them you should probably replace them. If you buy the belt mouldings they come with new clips but are shaped slightly differently. Don't blame your tech ...these are easy to break when removing the old moulding. I would assume many WILL break if you try to remove them. And fwiw the white clips hold the black replacement moulding to the chrome. Once they are sandwiched together slide the clips to the correct spot so they will line up with the holes in the metal door. Now set it on top of the door and use your fist to bump it into place until you hear the clip "click" into position.

Thank you for the info. The challenge is now finding the darn things. I can only imagine used ones will have issues...based on what you describe.

Here's an idea for the gallery: As I mentioned, my belt mouldings are all serviceable and without rust. Just the white clips are wiped out. If newer model years have the same clips, the belt moldings for those are much less expensive. Anybody know if the clips are the same and can be likely moved over the the 62 belt mouldings?

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing check out these :

Weatherstrip - Front Door Outer Window Channel - Right - OEM

These are oem toyota weatherstrip. They do have metal strip inside that you can't see but if you bend it (which I don't advise unless you are trashing) it will stay to that shape just like Gumby has wires inside him. Older peeps know what I'm talking about. The Chrome outer piece is NLA.

They will fit inside the chrome trim. Notice the pointed ends on the white clips. Those go inside the hole in the door. My original clips had a short barb that fit in the hole. If I recall you need to save any unbroken clips from the front to do the back doors. They do not have a hole in the door as best I recall but the short clips must grab a seam.

Also fwiw I have both 60 and 62 doors on my 60 do to a prior wreck and the moulding/clips etc are the same.

No...I don'tbelieve so. When I get home, I'll post photos.

@g-man...Here is a photo of a clip that survived, and one that did not. This is the 75720-90A00 belt moulding for the FJ62. The clips can be easily released off the metal and rubber/felt for replacement.

I just need the clips...any that will work. In this thread, Outside Door/Window Weatherstrip, there is discussion of clips that may be used (modified for use?... I'm not clear on that). In post #6 a part number is suggested. Although I find the part available, I can't find a photo to study for comparison.

Thoughts?

this toyota parts dealer online store says 67868-30040 fits land cruiser but no image.

67868-30040 - Toyota Parts Deal

That is the same part I sent you a link to minus the metal trim. For a 1.04 a piece just order a dozen if thats all you need.

I also saw that one there. Shipping is $10...which surpasses retail cost plus tax a the local dealership. I'll check with my local dealership to get one of those just to see. If it's what's needed, I can order the rest.

In the mean time, I'll use the time to clean these up, condition and see what I can do to restore the bit of black trim at the head and tail of each. I may try to mask off all but the trim ends, then pull, clean up, then shoot the trim ends with a couple of coats of black Flex-Seal. That stuff came in really handy for restoration of the out of sight portions of the mud flaps, although I used the brush on for those.
