As many of you know Caroline and I have been in the process of adopting a second child from Russia. To this point it has been alot of paperwork and a loooooong wait.

Well the wait is over. We got the call yesterday that they have a 2-year old boy for us.

Here is the kicker...they want us on a plane to Russia next Monday. Needless to say we have been running around today trying to make all the necessary arrangements...Visa's, flight reservations, etc.

This is only the first step. We will be in Russia for 7-days on our first trip and will return without the child. Once a courtdate has been established we will return to Russia (usually within two months) to complete the process. We will most likely be in Russia for 4-weeks on our second trip.

Anyway, just thought I would share...

Congratulations!

When it rains children it pours in this community!!! What is in the water????

p.s. I am buying bottled water for my wife.

Congrats Randy! We'll be thinking about y'all, wishing for the smoothest transition/process possible. Have a safe trip.

Randy,

Congrats and have a safe trip.

Congratulations! My friend just adopted twins from Russia.

Congrats to you & Caroline!

Thanks for all the well wishes!

I was all set for my reply should someone have casually offered up the usual "hey Randy if there is anything we can do to help out jsut let us know".

My reply would have been, GREAT the garage will be open and you can come over and change the timing belt on the 4Runner and get it running while I'm gone.

Seems this group is to savvy :hmm:

I definitley need to get that back seat installed so I can take the whole family out :)

Anyway, for those that might be interested, I will be posting to my blog as we go through this adventure.

does alex get to go?

Nope he has to stay behind...they really advise against it since our focus needs to be on the new kid and the travel schedule would no doubt take him to a whole new level of boredom and misbehaving ;)

I now have to have a talk wiht my parents who will be watching him to explain that while we are gone they are his "parents" not his "grandparents" I certainly don't want to come home to a spoiled monster

yeah...right...:hmm:

Cooper spent 3 days with his grandparents in January. Cried for 2 hours after we picked him up.

It figures, as he has the meanest parents in the world.
