I am not trying to play submarine, but some water crossings would be nice. I know that I have not been out on the trails around here, but I just don't see any hope with the lack of rain.

Water went quarter way up the windshield after the pic was snapped (of course!).

Ours is mostly for dust (we use a 7" pre-filter) 90% of the time.

What Dave isn't telling you is that he hit the water too fast and the resulting bow wave washed over his hood and he stalled have way across! Pic was from the Mojave Trail.

Most of us that have installed snorkels have done it to get a little less dusty and cooler air into the intake while desert driving. There is of course the 'bling' factor that is the real reason. hehehe

Don't get me wrong, I have installed one myself but I still want to test it out. Oh and I love the looks everyone gives me when they see me driving! :D

Yep Afton Canyon. Actually Brent, your incorrect. I stalled the second time over the opposite way im traveling in that pic ;) In that pic i was traveling very slow and did not stall.

Speaking of water, I was just looking under my DS dash looking for the hole in the firewall to run my wires because I have my Sirius antenna running through the hole for the steering column and I need to order up that plug because if I got into deep enough water it would all just come into the cab at the steering column. But my steering column is so off center in that hole that I don't see the plug or whatever it's called lasting. How is it holding up on your ride and is your column as off center?

If you want to go into deep water there are a whole bunch of other things you have to do first.

Yup, and 90% of the folks running snorkels ignore those! :D
