Note the blacked out light on the rear fender .This is because you cant see them from all angles with a spare tyre on the door hence the roof mounted brake light and indicator lights built into the bumper

Europeans have the right side rear light completely blacked out because of the visibility rule:

There is one more variation in German market vehicles, the one incorporating a fog light into the left side tailight:

I'm sure Tonito and other Europeans on the list can add a lot more info on this.

Would it look like the dual cab 105 above?

No, the shifter on the 105 is just like the 80. But have you seen an HDJ or FZJ 78/79 with a front bench seat?

Im pretty certain the base model cab chassis are all bench seats but I will check.
The seating specs should be in those brochures I sent you.

sweet pics, thanks Rosco.

Thanks Wayne,I love going back over the pics after I took them and pick out the details I missed when I took them.

I dont think you can see it in the pics but all the J7 are now painted grey underneath (floor)whereas the older ones were all black.

I just hope they dont end up IFS trying to impress motoring critics with their on road handling manners:crybaby:

Hi Guys,
so far I know every 70Series in Germany (and every other all terrain vehicle with the spare on the rear door) ever sold officially(!) by Toyota came with the rear lights in the bumper and the "black" ones in the body.
The rear lights with the fog light in it are equipped seperately by the driver or the cruiser is imported from a country without this visibility rule.
You can equip the car with the third variation of rear lights ...
rear2.jpg

... without the fog light, but you have to equip the fog light somewhere else (that's the law), that's why every german cruiser have the fog light in the left rear light, i think.

alright ... have a nice day and sorry for my bad english (it's late here, 02.08am)

greetingz

I want one of the blue troopy. Looks like it is equipped with both front and rear locking differentials, that is sweet!

Never seen before this sticker Di-Turbo .. that is a 1HD-FTE . ? or only 1HD-T

Its quite common and only for the 1HD-FTE on the RV 78-79 series.
Available in white,black or gold.Maybe silver too:D

In 2005, for the 1st time RV troopy sales have exceeded the base model troopy %60-%40:D

Hi Noel Can you see something I cant? I forgot to look when I took the pics and couldnt see anything after.
You may well be correct as the electric locking diffs are a popular option

I think it refers to the electronic controlled 1HDFTE only. Australia stopped getting the 1HDT in 1995. It's too ancient for them :)

You have nothing to worry about the the t/case shifter position;)

This in the HZJ79. The other pics shows the shifter from underneath and also shows what appears to be a spacer between the gearbox and t/case

Yeah, but . . . the HZJ79 doesn't have the manly H150f. It has the (insert Arnold Schwartzenegger's politically incorrect term here ;p ) R151 and the older transfer. so the transfer shifter location could be different.

Dave

well its lucky I took a pIc of the troopy shifters as well ,even with a car salesman biting my leg:rolleyes::D

Ross, does the Dyna have an identical tray to a 75 cruiser?
