Hello,

I am searching for a HJ45/H47 in un-restored condition. Patina is good if it’s not rotted out. LHD is strongly preferred. I will be needing a flatbed, but I can always swap that out if it has the original bed on it. I would prefer a later model but would look at others. I am willing to import from various countries; any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Dog_River

Also, I don’t think that Europe got the HJ47, they got the BJ45 after the HJ45. So I would expand your search to include BJ45.

This is great information since I don't know all the models offered and where. Can you tell me what years they where built ? If the BJ45 was offered in a pick-up and has most of my other boxes checked, I would surely would be interested.

Thanks, Dog_River

Based on some quick searches, Europe got the BJ45 from 81-84. I did see HJ47 listed for European-spec, too, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one listed for sale.

In fairness, I’ve also seen many more BJ45s as Troopies versus pickups, but the pickups are out there.

In Australia, the Ute (cab, no bed) is far more common than the traditional style side pickup.

Hola, Shawn. Been in Athens 30 yrs now. Doh! Which bars ? you know I went there... and I agree. thanks for reaching out. show me your troopy?
I moved there in 92 so about the same time, I guess, I owned The Winery, Firehouse, and RPM/Engine Room. I’ve been back a few times. Seems like it’s growing up a lot, I’m not sure I liked it :(.

I ended up backing out of that Troopy because of a problem with the VIN plate. Today I bought an FJ70 to accompany my 45 pickup to the US next month. Still looking for a Troopy though.

Shawn

I started my search for a LHD 45 pickup when I first got stationed in Italy. They exist, but good survivers are rare. Plenty of "frame off" stuff if you have the coin. I ended up falling in love with the troopies during my hunt. Keep in mind our bros overseas treat them pickups about as good as we do - used as intended.

Fwiw, BJ45 - top = pickup :smokin:

My hybrid 82 bj45 Troopy/ pickup!
