Hello I know its a long shot but I'm interested in a cheap project fj40 definitely my dream car would need to be within reasonable distance of Pittsburgh PA and fairly cheap would expect rust but no rot box if you have something please let me know

Also, your ad mentions 1980. Is that the only year you're considering? Limiting your search to 1980 and newer will make finding an affordable one more difficult, as post-1980 models are among the rarest and most desirable.

I'm open to any year colors and power train budget would depend on condition but under 5k would be great but if nice could maybe go little higher i know it's unlikely to find something but thought I'll try don't need another vehicle but would like to get something.
Also consider a diesel model.

Welcome to the site. Have you checked out the Classified section? Its a good place to start and get an idea of value and availability. There's also a Clubhouse house section for more local support. Your budget is pretty tight. I'm not sure it'll be a running, and may be more rusty than you would like. Typically body work is the most time consuming and expensive repairs. Rot can go deep. Mechanical repairs are more predictable. Good luck with your search. Don't be afraid to travel.

I'm not expecting to find anything probably but thought I would try body rust can get fixed but frame rot not messing with I'm expecting probably not running I can't travel to far don't have the time and I'm sure shipping cost are high now with gas cost been looking to move West might have better luck out west if I don't find anything now

Thanks for the offer really appreciate it I don't travel much but if I'm that way would definitely enjoy checking it out I'm thinking I won't find one everything is so overpriced today and usually junk guy local started at 25k for a basic old vw bug now 10k still crazy to me offered 5k but never got a reply.
 
In Metairie just dropped price for probably 3 rd time, lot of rust on body
