Did a little Google searching for Toyota motorcycles and didn't see anything. Really the only placement would be on the tank, and with the threaded studs on the reverse we can rule that out.

Keep the ideas coming!

Here is the same style pocket knife as in post 374, but from 10 years earlier in 1947. On May 10th of that year, the 100,000th unit rolled off the line. Toyota held a pretty big celebration, and I would imagine these were given to folks in commemoration. This one has the TEQ logo and an additional smaller blade.

There is a similar version of this knife that was presented to the first manager of the first Toyota dealership in California, There were two others that were presented that same day, one was given to the governor, another one was given to the mayor. I have the one that was prented to the governor. The one presented to the mayor was previously in the mayors office until 1974 when it was reported stolen. A few years ago I was able to find a copy of the police report the documented that. Around the same time that I found that document, I was told that the knife and a key presented to the manager of that original dealership was given to another manager and passed on to someone who started a Toyota dealership between Los Angeles and Irvine. But I could never find any more information on that.

Now that I have seen this thread, I will post a picture of the knife soon.

@musthave Tim, very cool information. Thanks a ton for sharing. What prompted you to look for the police report of the stolen knife?

Collection of vintage Toyota air tools used in Toyota shops. These are mostly from the 70s and 80s. All are different after subtle designs changes over the years. Pneumatics reign supreme with unmatched torque capability, but it’s tough to deny the tech of higher volt cordless. Not too many jobs a good cordless tool can’t tackle now. Another generation or two of improved LI may make these totally obsolete. Well, maybe not to this guy. 🙂

Bumper jack from a late 60’s to early 70’s Toyota Century. Missing the base. I think Crowns also utilized jacks similar to this one. Same mechanical crank principle as the bottle jacks of the era, with a long gear running the length of it.

Not sure if they had the mini air ratchet but maybe they did? I was able to get one NIB. Its about 5-6 inches in length. Very portable.
Looks like the younger cousin of the one on the bottom Leon.
