yep, that's the plan. they're pretty much the same top and bottom if you flip em around. Easier than trying to make the square hole for bottom latch mech.
My old extra set had rusty tops too, so it's good I got some more from Mark.
do you know if I have enough sets at your place to come up with one set ?
dude I think between yours and mine, there's 11 of the bloody things out there....so yeah. should be enough...

Caution dealing with moterra
I bought a part off this guy and picked it up one day in the pouring rain,part was in a black garbage bag. I was in a hurry and didnt inspect the part that closley gave him the 100.00 and left. Got home and realized the part was for a s/b chev not a 2F. Told Moterra i would drive back up to Coombs to get money back and he said money was spent. I gave him every opportunity to pay me back,even said he could do work for me to pay it off. I offered 50 cents on the dollar knowing it would cost me 50.00 to drive up there he said great and the check was in the mail. 2 years later and many e-mails to him i am still waiting for cheque. Long story short dont deal with this guy.
If he finally comes clean i will post up here and let you know but in the meantime BUYER BEWARE

The aluminum one I used from lordco worked great and was alot cheaper then a new one for a 40 if you can't find one...

There are two part numbers... I can only find one on the internet the one I didn't use... I'll dig through my receipts. Its a Northern Race Pro 19 x 21 I believe:
209632 = Inlet Left Outlet Right
I used one that was inlet right outlet left. Go to lordco talk to nick... hes the one who found it for me its in the northern book !

i have two rads for a 40... one of them is the one stephen gave me (he says it leaks) the other one came out of my 71 and didnt leak...
thanks! i'll look into it this week, got some old calipers that i'm getting credit for so it should offset the cost...

unfortunately we could not come to an agreement on returning the part in question and i sell things as is where is and do not give refunds on parts picked up and bought on an as is basis if i had to worry about what fitment ppl had for there parts all the time i would just stop selling used parts period. like i said in my email maybe you should check what you are buying because i sure as hell don't know what you wanted....sorry it didn't work out for you wombat but i have also bought parts that didn't work out and didn't complain that i didn't get the right s***....it comes down to you bought it and its yours now

as i said settle up your accounts with wombat if you want any of my windsheilds/frames. calling buyer beware after the fact is not settling up accounts.
wombat has always been more than fair in all of his dealings with me and many others i know on these boards.
as he is a fine upstanding member of this club i hope nobody else in the club considers selling you anything you may need until you settle things up appropriatly

Hey, I've got a windshield for you. I'll even wrap it up in a bag for you. Just don't blame me if it doesn't fit your 40. Buyer beware and all. It's still in the car that Seapotato got his radio for his 42. I'll even let you have it for $100.
If you sold him a 2F part, it shouldn't be a Chevy part.

hows the aluminum tub working out for you... u bought it off me awhile back... just seeing how the progress is going on the 71.... my 73 is almost done..
i do have a windshield frame here little beat up and needs new glass and no wiper motor on it...
cant remember if i gave you windshield hinges or not for that front cowling..
let me know if you need that windshield frame..
