Hello All,

I am new to I8mud so forgive me if I overlooked this information some where else. Please feel free to point me in the right direction. I was wondering where to find parts for my 81 pickup. I know local parts stores have basics but where do you get the hard to find stuff, body panels, doors, mechanical parts, seals bearings, etc. New parts are preferred however are there any good salvage yards here in the US that keep these old of trucks on hand?

More info on yotatech or ttora probably. There are a couple of wrecking yards in colorado that specialize.

Mechanical parts like seals and bearing are commonly available. Body parts are a challenge for Gen1 trucks. I seem to recall a post about this recently so you might try a search. Your best bet will be the boneyards.

My friend, you obviously don't know how junk yards work... Most yards, after a certain amount of time they crush the car/ truck.

Craigslist or GoLSN and start buying parts trucks... IMO, WAY more economical... Providing you have a place for storage.

Jim seems to have found someone that is selling the discontinued grill plastic and headlight bezels that I was looking for. One of the trucks is a '78 & the other is an '83. When I get them I'll post up where they came from.

http://.www.toyotapartsbarn.com has a lot of stuff you wil need to go to the older/classic vehicle area but if its not on their site call them i have found a few things that i have been told arent around anymore.
