Scrub with Simple Green and rinse off good.
I've found soaking in diesel, wiping down with simple green to get rid of the greasy residue from the diesel and dollar store oven cleaner to be the ticket. But, i think the prep is important and I'm buying the acids for rusted parts on other parts of the engine, so it's essentially "free" since I'll have chems around anyway.

Not the mighty 1FZ-FE but it is going onto an 80 chassis this winter. Started with 120 grit sandpaper and went up to 400 and then buffed it out. Ceramic coat on headers. Airbrushed by me.

Guess I am late to the game... but I'd like to play. Rick at Creative Custom Finishing did this for me. He did do a couple for the turbo guys but found out that candy was causing cracks in the finish and has had no issue since. So I took the chance and dropped the $350. He is easy to work with and I feel through my suggestion and his execution it came out great. Gold/Black true weave w/ black lettering.
