I'm looking at a 1980 SR5 4x4 with 85K, original miles, factory AC and in excellent condition.
It's been well maintained and has new BFGs.
He's asking 4K
I'm just wondering what the going rate is for such a truck these days.
Thanks

That is a Unicorn.

No SR5 until the 1981 model year (no 5 speed either).

79-80 "fancy" 4WD is a Sport and it has a side-shift 4 speed and a 20R.

If your version and my version of "excellent" are the same it could be worth that quite (at least to me) easily.

If it has a 10 digt VIN beginning with RN37 or RN47 it is a 79-80. 81-up is a 17 digit beginning JT4RN38 or RN48.

if its got original paint an all its worth more than that

Strange because I'm looking at a 1980 SR5 long bed 5 speed with original paint too. It's only 2wd though. We've settled on 3500$ but I'm fairly certain it is worth quite more than that to the right crowd. The guy doesn't know the gem he has. It's in amazing shape. How certain are we on those years Dan?

There were SR5 2wd trucks in 79-80. I had a 79 RN42 SR5 in 474 Copper Metallic. It was a sort of rootbeer brown with gold stripes. It was, as it's name implied, a 5 speed.

no 5 speeds in 79-80 4Wd trucks.

Good to know Dan! But to get back on track, even being modified if it's in that good of condition I would say the truck is worth 4k. I'd just want to know the story on the drive train. Pictures and thread on my 80 SR5 to follow by the end of the week.
