I considered it but then it wouldn’t be bolt in
Sure it would, drill, manipulate, drill again, bolt on...you see the clutter I'm dealing with. :P

Ok guys. This is the accessory mount we have all been waiting for. It holds my 1” ram toughball, I think I got the “camera mount” version, my 3” extension and my “x -mount” phone holder. The phone and mount does not shake, although I took a video and it looks shaken, it did not affect my screen or gps.

Yeah any vibrations are going to transmit into the camera. This thing isn’t gyro stabilized :P

As I mentioned before, I had another similar holder/accessories dash mount with a cell holder and it shook like crazy with my phone. No offense, for the price that will work for most, but this one is top notch.

That’s dude! I’m trying. Still trying ;)

I figured it would as well. But had to test it as I did not see any movement of the actual phone that affected my vision.

The motorcycle dual sport riders have been doing this kind of thing for a while. I had big plans to add RAM mounts to my old bikes, but seemed to sell them before I got that far :)

Mounts - Electronics :: Aerostich Motorcycle Jackets, Suits, Clothing, & Gear

Late to the discussion, but I am getting ready to start pulling stuff off the dash and doing stuff in blank spaces, so this is pretty cool to read about!

And . .for the record, I would pay $100 for this mount as it has three slots and really gives you the ability to control equipment vs take up passenger room.

Edit - - . . . . .if it could handle the weight of say a phone & gps.

Did you ever consider bringing something up and angled in front like a L or C shape? If it was C-shaped it could possibly use the top of the dash to help - would have to have something that wouldn't harm the dash - not sure it would be worth it.

I have used these Panavise holders before, but for the 4Runners they are too close to your knees for off-roading. I haven't tried for the LX or 80s, but still look like they are too far away and may also let your knees bang into them.

These Panavise holders are great, for the 80 series that is. The 100 series version shakes too much due to the length of the arm.

This Witt's End mount looks like a great option.

I have that mount now and it’s cut a few knees and at least one forehead.

Yeah I’ve been using that panavice for a while now. I have a 1” ram ball mounted to each side. I’m still likely buying this new cubby mount though. I want all the options!

I just received your mount and am very pleased with it, solidly made, and top quality. Have you given any thought to designing a similar mount the will fit in the ash tray slot? I experimented with mine and a spare dash bezel I have and the mount is too wide for the ash tray hole. I noticed the mounting holes for the useless cubby and the ashtray mount are roughly the same. My thinking is that this would allow us non smokers an additional mounting option while retaining the upper cup holder. Just curious.

More to come ;)
