USB charging ports... simple question

Well, its not some $15 dollar special that requires a battery, has a built in clock and compass, and when the sun heats up the adhesive lets go and it falls of the dash.

My opinion: If you are installing just the USB chargers you will only get the current tech for the time. Example: most of the USB only charges at 1.0 or 2.4 now. If you have a fast charging phone (most Android phones are like this now...sorry iOS haha) you will need 3.0 amp charging with USB C. Wouldn't it be better just to add more 12V outlets and then just put the correct USB 12V charger. That way you can use it for anything.
Something like this : https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Blit...=1472698910&sr=8-6&keywords=usb+c+12v+charger

Does the temp. monitor fit in the factory blanks space as well? I'm thinking by the dimmer switch on the left side of the dash.

I could see that point, for sure. Worth a thought.

Notice about USB chargers: they are often extremely noisy, producing so much RF crap that it kills your ability to receive week radio signals (CB, VHF, etc). This was a big problem in my last truck, so I've used the stupidly expensive newer Blue Sea model 1045 in my new rig. I have yet to test.

yes the temp monitor fits the regular switch blanks. Both USB and monitor use the same form factor

there is no size it just fits

I also bought their outdoor air temp gauge and it has a green readout similar in colour to our dash backlights. You can get in Fahrenheit and Celsius

Reviving for a quick question. What is the wiring process behind the dash to install this dual port charger. Mine arrives tomorrow.
Thanks!!

Explained on their website:
"The 091-219-5 Dual USB Charging Port is designed to fit into a standard 1.45” x 0.83” panel cutout. Connect the red wire to either +12 Volts continuous (battery positive) or switched 12 Volt power (ignition) using a 3 Amp fuse. Connect the black wire directly to chassis ground (battery negative)."

Buy one with over current protection, I installed a blue sea double, and had my iPad Pro and iPhone charging continuously. I ended up frying it with smoke and all, I have since installed a blue sea with over current and temperature protection, no issues since, they are sold on amazon

Here are some USB Port's that I just added.. As Jon said ~ 12V +/- from your Blue Sea and they are good to go.

Okay, I’ll bite: who makes those custom 80-fit panels/mounts you’re using? Or is that you?

Don’t see this stuff on the website...
