Front door upper packing/gaskets. I just installed the and fitment is excellent. Have to remove out now that contacts door weatherstrip to install the fronts. Rear repro's jus t stick on. Easy and now quieter. Thanks again Rog

Tom, the upper corner seals go on top of the body metal. They are there to seal and to prevent the corners of the door from contacting the HT.

@FJ40Jim not sure if I am getting what you mean Jim? I removed the outer bow so they are above them.

From the way I read it, the gasket/rubber piece goes b/w the door bow header and the door, not in b/w the two door bow header pieces.

Correct, the corner seals go on the HT after its assembled.
There is a later, more invovled corner seal that has a slot in the back to engage the end of the outer HT rail, but it still is largely on the outer surface of the HT.

Ah bummer, made more work for my self and they are on with 3M weatherstrip adhesive to make matters worse, and of course back ones are on too.................Misunderstood Rog's directions.:(

Guess to have them correct need all four new.............................damn these things get spendy!!!!!

So my fronts are in correct? The top photo is before I put in the outer bow

Oh I see. The orientation is correct, but it needs to go in front of the bow. There's a pocket behind the gasket to slip the metal bow into. I just found my install photos:

Thanks all, was able to reuse slid bows into front packing, used some 3M adhesive and good to go!

@73FJ40 looking amazing brother!!!!

Amazing unobstructed view!
@Racer65 , I removed everything and buffed up the paint just to showcase your product!:rofl:

Actually, I'm putting stuff back together from the inside out. As you know, to reach up there with wiring harnesses and defroster hoses is a major PITA. The hardest part of the cowl drain hose install was getting the grommets in right. I ended up positioning them on the hoses in the approximate location, then working the outer lip of the grommet through the fire wall. five minute job, not counting sips of :beer:

Corrosion resistance aside, I can really vouch for the superiority of double wired hose clamps over the band type. I have piled on the miles after my recent cooling system refresh, and there's not a trace of coolant leak anywhere. Previously when I had the band type, the clamps often required re-tightening after initial installation, and I still got drips from time to time, even after tightening down the clamps quite a bit. I know some folks even put two of such camps side by side to stop the leaks. Switch to wired clamps and your problem will be solved.
