Happy to see the vent gasket becoming available...

Look at what lies in the grass! Cowl vent gaskets! Now available. Mud price is $48 shipped (shipping charge will be assessed for non-U.S. addresses).
As mentioned in my store's description, cowl drain hoses will be coming up next. Yes you can still buy OEM hoses from Toyota, but mine will be made with Silicone and it will not rot again.

@Racer65 - maybe I missed it, but why does the reproduction booster you sell not work on disc brake setups? My understanding is plenty of the drum-to-disc conversion folks kept their original boosters when they switched over to discs.

I know my booster isn't stock, as it's too wide and overlaps the clutch master cylinder slightly. I believe it's out of a 90's 4-runner. I'm running 4 wheels discs. I'm just curious because that piece would be a nice finishing touch, if indeed it wound up working with disc brakes.

Thanks for doing this! I'm excited to see all these products being brought back. I'll definitely be picking up a shift boot, drain hoses, and floor mat (if they go into production), once I've dug myself out of the financial pit that will be my engine relocation!

Yup. It's a PITA when you need to get to that one bolt, but otherwise a great booster. It's more powerful than even the original dual-diaphram booster.

Agreed - I guess really I'm just curious. He mentioned it would NOT work, so I'm mostly just trying to figure out why not. Might not lock up like the 4-runner booster does, but I'd be inclined to think it would still provide adequate braking power.

It's that stupid legal thing again. Since Toyota neither tested nor approved the use of this booster for disc brakes, I can't legitimately recommend its usage in a way that's beyond the confines of the factory spec. Will it work? I'm pretty sure it will, but I'd rather sell you a dual diaphragm booster. I've occasionally mentioned that I have such a booster sitting in my workshop already. I haven't had time to productionize it, but I'm 99% sure it's exactly what you need.

here is a pic(and no I am not pulling it out)

I assume the 62 is the same...but to lazy to look

I found the part number...
Part #: 96532-13017

It's cheap enough if somebody wants to try it for a fit

and.......now that I am thinking...I think the Fj60 uses a gromet like the 40 for the rear heater hoses entering the cab from underneath

Disc brakes don't, in general, require more power than drums. I had a '69 Corvette with a 427 that did not have a booster at all. It was ordered that way. Manual steering too.

I've got one of those spacers. They are stock on minitrucks. How are you going to extend the pushrod 2cm to reach the new booster location?

My booster already accounts for the spacer. All the original geometries are retained, and you will have clearance to the clutch bolt.

Disc brakes don't, in general, require more power than drums.

I think that depends. If you Google this topic, you can find evidence to the contrary. I just assume that there is a reason Toyota switched to a dual diaphragm booster when they introduced disc brakes.

they probably switched to the dual diaphragm for the same reason their new engine was called the 2F.... two "F"s are clearly better than one. Two diaphragms MUST better too...

couldn't you just label your description as this brake booster may be used for disc brakes "for off-road use only"

same with the floor mat.. "this floor mat is for decoration purposes only and is not for use inside an actual vehicle. in no way is this piece of rubber intended to replace or reproduce toyota intellectual property"

sort of like this website.... they tell you if the items get confiscated that they aren't responsible. seems legit.

This wording is awesome:

You solely accept the full risk of any package (or part thereof) being detained by customs for whatever reason and acknowledge and agree that you will not hold our store liable for such packages or loss, for whatever reason being unable to be delivered to you.

Man what a great business model. Take people's money and then say must've got seized by customs. Too bad, so sad. Thanks for your money!

Good to know. The 4-Runner booster is working just fine for the time being. I have about 800 other projects to tackle before I start replacing functional parts for aesthetic/ease of use reasons. Maybe by the time I get there, the dual diaphragm booster will be available.
