However, you CAN print the teq logo

Care to elaborate? I don't think Toyota ever gave up that trademark actually.

Yes I did put it on my fuse box cover, augmented with my company's initials to make it borderline acceptable, but only because it's not a big ticket item.

Seriously I think the glue on logo is the best way to go.

The logo is a nice raised rectangular shape. They make some really good permanent flexible rubber glue. Install and it will look just like part of the original mat. I've used this adhesive with really great results:

I have warmed up to this idea. Should be nice if care is taken to glue it properly.

Blue tape to outline the position of the patch so you know where to put it and to catch any extra adhesive. With the accelerator that comes with that adhesive you have about 15 minutes to place it - plenty of time. After patch is in place, gently press down so the adhesive is flattened. Then clean up the edges of excess adhesive. Once that is all done, place some weights on it and you should be good to go. Let sit overnight and your mat will look beautiful! Wash, rinse, repeat on the other side... :)

A couple of sneak previews...

Floor mat material sourcing is well under way (Note: this is not a pic of the floor mat; just talking about the material):

An even older fuse box - p/n 82600-30022 for '69 to '71 could be coming back, so hold your bids on eBay:

Glue on logo is the smart way to go. Im def in for a mat and patch

On the topic of gluing rubber... having rubber blanks to glue in place of the shifter holes would solve the problem of people not having to cut holes yet having the option for those of us with custom shifters (or a column shift) to have the holes covered.

That's a good reminder. I tend to forget that some of you don't want the pre-cut holes.

I've got you covered (pun intended). it's easy enough to make some without holes. Don't want you guys to patch up too many things.

I've been talking about fuse boxes in a few different places, so it's time for an update.

First of all, it looks like I didn't make enough of these. The first batch is sold out, so I'm making another run, which should be ready in a couple of weeks.

Now some new news:
  1. More people have asked about the cover only option, so you'll get what you asked for :). Right now, I don't have enough to go around, so if you want just the cover you'll have to wait a month. I'll make covers available for $30 (plus shipping).
  2. I will also make the '78 model year cover with "Radio" at the bottom.
  3. As mentioned in post #385, I'll bring the '69 to '71 fuse block to market. You will also have the option to buy just the cover for $30.

hey Racer hope you're considering a good production run for the mat ... plenty of pent up demand, I'll bet ...

I am sure there would be interest, from Australia......

I sold my OEM mat on eBay, recently, specifically due to this possibility.

Any idea on the approximate price for the mat ??
You don't want to know :(

Seriously, the financial aspect is what I've been devoting a lot of energy to lately. There are several options. The price can range from the low $300's to the low $400's, depending on what compromises folks are willing to make. I posted up a survey to get some ideas. Bottom line is you will get what you pay for. When Toyota sold this mat it retailed for close to $500 I believe. That was a long time ago, and it was made in volume. There are simply limitations to how much better you can do to beat that.
