Any rear protection/tire carrier or just trim the up the bumper?
I have a rigd carrier and an old curt hitch skid. It’s the temp solution until I decide on the rear bumper/tire carrier solution whenever that will be. In the meantime, rear bumper will just have to be at risk, or I cut.

I do have a lift going on soon. It’s in boxes…. In the garage.

If you plan on doing a bumper, I'd just cut the rear bumper unless when you get your new bumper, you're planning on trying to sell the factory one.

Hey, guys! As I try to figure out my next move with wheels and tires, I’dlove to see pictures and specs of Gx’s that do NOT have a lift, but have aftermarket wheels and tires. Thanks for all the help!
265/65 r18 falken wildpeaks. Really liking this tire, but also liked the toyo open countrys that were on it before (same size). With this size and the removed running boards, have not really had a reason to lift it. Updated the suspension, though, with bilstein 5100s

Falken 265/70r17 on Methods.

I like the stance, have minimal rubbing after modifying the fender liners a bit, and I'm very happy with the tires. I only wish I'd sprung for different wheels, because the paint hasn't held up great to my type of use and the center caps have already delaminated. I think I'm the only guy on here who had a bad experience with Methods, but I personally don't recommend them. Wishing I'd gone with Evo Corse or even some Braids, considering how much I spent it wouldn't have been too big a stretch.

No plans to lift it any time soon. I'm happy how she sits, for now.
My method center caps (same model) also are delaminating. Not happy with my first aftermarket wheel purchase. Though I like the initial look and the stance.

Edit: called method and they are sending me different center caps free of charge. They said it was a known issue. No hassle. Now just to wait for them to show up sometime mid January 🤞🏻

RockyRhodes: The F-Sports look fantastic and I think you lost a few pounds of rotating mass as well. The dark gun metal makes the cashmere pop in a sporty way that the stock alloy doesn't. IMHOP: I don't think a black wheel would look as elegant on the color as your choice.

Maybe instead of complaining on a forum I could have given them the opportunity to make it right. Huh, makes you think.

Anyhow, thanks for the tip.

Thank you. I believe they save about 3lbs. per. The biggest downside is the F-Sport lug nuts and having to have 2 special sockets to remove them. The clear coat is starting to flake but with how much abuse they've taken, it's not bad compromise.

I spent 9 months researching before pulling the trigger. Goodyear MT/Rs 33x10.5R17(255/80R17) on toyota factory steelies. I think this is the tallest tire that will fit without much work. Just pushed back liners.
I run factory wheels with yokohama all seasons in the winter, for snow and ice.

Looks solid. Did you just trim the running boards at the top of the unpainted plastic trim piece?

Any aftermarket springs here? Or just stock springs on 5100s

Stock springs. Not sure what you mean by “unpainted trim piece”, but yes I pulled them off, then trimmed the steps off. Very easy to do. Have not yet determined a solution for the rocker lights, so they are removed.

Great work hilux, that looks terrific. I know what size I want next.
You will have to either run an undersized spare or find an alternate place for it. There ia. Few different tire choices in the 255/80R17. The 33x10.5R18 are actually 32.5 only the 17" are true 33s.

Thank you, I am looking at the rear hatch tire mount, if I don’t put it inside and build a deck around it. But that’s why my first set was 265/65/18, wanted to run it stock for awhile before modding.

I used ratchet straps to the floor anchor points. I dont have kids, so I only use the middle seat for the dogs, so that worked out alright

2015 265/60r18 Toyo Open Country H/T. I added the Cornfed 1” front leveling spacer. I am possibly looking at trading for a set of Falken Wildpeak 285/70r17 on a -10 offset wheel. I’m thinking this will require the BMC mod along with some trimming. My original plan was going with a set of 4Runner snowflake wheels (which I have) and a 33x10.5 tire (less offset = no BMC)? Should I stick with this original plan? Or is the 285/70r17 able to fit with no BMC on a -10 offset (I’ve read some have been able to avoid the BMC on a +25 offset 4Runner wheel).

I run 33x10.5(255/80R17) in the summer, just had to push fender liners back. The fit is fairly tight with the Goodyear MTR.

Lift wont really affect fit since its an issue with space in front of and behind the tire.

Yeah, this makes sense. I think I may stick to the original plan…thanks for the reply.

You're welcome. The skinnies are not for everyone and I found them to be very pressure sensitive, more so than any other tire I have run. That being said, the goodyears have been amazing, except in snow, which is comically barely driveable. Aired down they are amazing.

I am tempted to try to fit 275/70R18s for my winter tires when my Yoko 265/60s are worn out.

They do really well in snow and ride amazingly smooth after pulling off the mud tires.
