Yes. It's a tight fit and you would need to remove the clutch master and ABS unit to remove the booster and brake master. I turned the 80 booster upside down and it fit the 40 perfectly no mods, bolt pattern and all.P1010076.webp

SUBSCRIBED! That looks like it would be a heck of a rig to drive...!

Nice work buddy! I want to take it for a spin when it's finished.

Amazing.............

Looks great, tight fit under the bonnet, eh? Hats off for making everything fit.

I cringe, however, at the thought of servicing the engine, I thought things were tough to get to while it was in the 80. I hope you have Umpa Loompa hands to be able to reach stuff.

Interested to see the progress!

Question: it looks like the radiator may inhibit placement of the headlights, any concern there or is it optical illusion?

I see a non-Toyota hose clamp (actually two) on the MAF. Sorry couldn't resist. Just bustin' your chops!:flipoff2:

Isn't there another 40/80 combo running around? I think on the other one they kept the 80 frame & suspension as well. 40 body on an 80.

Truly though, this is an FZJ40.

The battery - with the dome hood on a 40, would it be reasonable to go with a gel/sealed battery and stand it on end?

Hope you changed the PHH (pesky heater hose) while it was out!

The rad support brackets were notched to fit the area where the bulb meets the connectors. Luckily the rest of the bulb is far enough forward.

Put a 3FE in there instead :P :D

A/C may eventually make it but the heater box in the 80 is practically twice as wide as the 40 dash and would require some serious time and mod to fit. Planning on running all the 40 series heater box fan etc for the time being. As far as maintenance there is plenty of room to access the engine from the wheel wells and underneath, just like the 40.
