Well, it's official, the steering box is no good. Don't want to risk burning up the pump and ruining the box for this run. I doubt I will go and ride, as I should spend my time either fixing my house or fixing my truck. I will gladly give anyone any advice on directions, Skip, or anything else.

I apologize for having to bail, but it's better to break down in the garage than 50 miles from home.

Dang Carp, you were the ride organizer! I wish I had not taken my back seats out, cause you'd be riding!

I should be there w/ one passenger.

I have open seats in mine if you (Carp) wanna ride? Ill be coming over with Land Speeder. Id hate for someone to miss a ride completely.

I'll be there. I've got to put my front end back together tonight but I'll be there. If anyone wants to come help me tonight I'd be more than welcome to have you around. The 40 is in the heated garage.

I think the Cuban is coming also.

Thanks to the ever magnificent Troll, it is possible that I may have the truck back together tonight. So, pray that the bolts turn smooth, the pitman arm releases, and the newsed box is good. I'm gonna give it the ol' college try and burn some midnight oil... If I can't impose my will on it, then I'll catch a ride with someone.

So, those of you wanting to caravan with me, we're back on for 9:00 AM at the Hickory Point Gas Station off Hwy 8 (Exit 32 off I-85).

See y'all at Gulches.

By the way, those of you in the upstate, you really don't have an excuse for not coming. We've got Eric coming all the way from Al-A-Bama (said in the best Forrest Gump impersonation) and a few trucks coming from ATL. So, you can't tell me it's too far for you. Any new takers? How about the WNC Guys?

Do i need to actually go through Greenbo to get there? I wasn't planning on it. I am bringing my oldest brother now, he is hoot and a true Alabamian!

Well said Carp! Cant wait to see everyone tomorrow. I'll be bringing the extra UC shirts from OTMT and NmS; so bring some extra cash.

Da*n, missing the Cuban! Tell him hello for me!

I'm in FL where it's 62 deg. and I'm wearing shorts and waiting for pics!

Hope everyone has a great time!

Good times.

Was a great day today. UC probably had 10-12 vehucles there. Gulches had a good crowd also. Made for an exciting day of watching people wheel and watching all the UC folks have fun.

We currently have an issue though. Eric from Alabama broke his 80 I wasn't there when it happened and have only heard detail from David C. But it sounds like he broke his studs on his front drive plate. Not a big issue but now he cannot get the t-case to engage. They have gotten him to the parking lot and they are looking for a trailer. SO if anyone can assist him let me know.

I'll have pics up as soon as I know everyone is home safely.

I talked to Carp and the situation with Eric and Catawampus sounds like it is under control. They have located a donor vehicle near by and if it doesn't work it sounds like they have a plan to get the truck back to his home.

I think UC had 12 trucks out today - it was a great showing! Thanks to Carp for organizing everything and doing a great job. It was pretty cold but the wind stayed down and the sun up so it felt fairly decent.

There were a ton of trucks at Gulches and Skip (the owner) was very happy to see everyone. They sold more hot dogs and hamburgers at lunch than they ever have!

Thanks to everyone who came out. I had a great time and I think everyone else did too. Ray and Ray did great in Ray's FJC. Stu wheeled the snot out of a totally stock 62. My FJC did pretty well. Alex wheeled his pretty 40. John Lee had his 62 and Carp had his 60. Eric (Grain Fed) came all the way from Alabama and we had a few GA boys and some people I'm probably leaving out. Marshall helped Carp out with a PS pump so he could bring his 60 out. It was a great day with a bunch of great UC'ers.

Here are a few pics! Enjoy!

The GF and I had a great time and it was good seeing everyone again. Thank you all for the good time and great spotting.

On the way out we were going to do one more quick lap around trail 2, but were held up by some Jeeps blocking the way. So we sat there for a few minutes and watched a wrangler tackle this steep incline and then a XJ followed. The XJ got loose and took a tumble back down the hill. Luckily the driver wasnt hurt. Sorry for how bad the pics came out, i took them with my cell phone.

Dang John! I took off right when y'all went for that last lap!

That is one reason I'm putting a cage in my Pig. I don't trust my A-pillars to hold up in a flop. If the Cherokee rolled backwards then there could have been a good bit of force coming down on those A's. Unless they already hi-lifted the roof back up I think it held up OK for a backwards flop.

Luckily for the driver it rolled sideways one and half times before it was stopped by a tree. It would have been alot worse if it was a true backwards flop. The top was a little more smushed in, two guys got in there and pushed the roof back up in the middle before i took the pics.

which trail was that so I dont think I can do it and screw my rig up? :D :D

I talked to Skip this evening and he said it was blue skies and sunny all afternoon and should be tomorrow as well..... So the Lowcountry guys are coming up tomorrow so if anyone has a notion to do a little more wheeling....we would love to have you and allow us to get to know eachother a little bit as distant cousins in the same club. :D :D

Wish us luck and a good time!
