HC ride coming up soon. Thoughts on stopping at the problem spot and trying to block it? Cutting trees to lay across would probably be seen as more abuse but maybe dragging deadfall to restrict access could help. At this point people are just following tire tracks and bragging about their stupidity. (This is also posted on local FB and in the 80 section here)

18:50 "I probably should have stayed on the main trail"

Anyone have a good shop for GX 460s here in the Upstate?
Just bought a stock 2019 with 26,000 miles and it pulls to the right. I got an alignment but it still pulls to the right...
Trying swapping the front tires side to side

I'm 15 minutes in and it's clear no one has lockers or knows how to use them.

As for blocking the problem road, maybe post hole dig and drop some 6-8" round posts in the ground. Or a long 2x4 mounted across two trees and painted up red/white or with reflective tape?

Engage brain before engaging lockers anyway. I don't want to sound too critical of others getting out, but we know this area and how close we are to losing it. This is the 3rd video I have seen posted lately that gives the USFS the fuel they need for continuing their plan of management by closure. At least one YouTuber last week was humble enough to admit his error and edited out this section when educated. Pisgah alone has an amazing network of roads/trails that are only accessible now on foot or bicycle, SC is pretty much locked down by Duke with the exception of hunting season, and N.GA has lost .

I think that would be good except for the FS's intentional rejection of such offers. Venture Unknown and Tread Lightly were working with them to do cleanups and maintenance such as that but their response would likely classify any structured barrier as illegal. Cynical me thinks that they want this area to be trashed

I was gifted a fairly good entry level welder. Still have to buy some wire and a welding helmet but already have a couple small projects in mind to learn on.

8 Days ago I wasn't remotely thinking about moving but this morning we find ourselves with a contract on a house less than a mile from us and need to now sell ours.....PM me if you know anyone looking for a home in the Eastside Area of Greenville (near intersectio of East North St. & Mitchell Rd.), won't go on the market til next week as we need to get youngest daughter and son in law moved out of our house and into theirs....actually have a friend of a neighbor coming to see it this afternoon!

Have a contract on our home.....twin sister and husband of couple two doors down buying it!

GX550 Overtrail. Looks like realistically a 4 seater with decent offroad specs (rear locker).

They need to get on the ball and bring the 40 series back. Look at the success of the Bronco and Wrangler...

Teaser, but I expect it to be a stripped down GX550, ie LC Prado, based on that article. Not a bad thing for the trail with how big the 200 got compared to previous wagons, but I’m priced out for years. Hopefully a trail east of the Mississippi will be still open by then

Max Patch closure and restrictions have been extended to 2026.
